Agawam Municipal Golf Course
About
Agawam Municipal Golf Course has been a favorite among local golfers since first opening in 1944. It has a traditional layout that offers a few challenges but it's still player friendly enough for golfers of any skill levels. The holes are fairly straightforward but the gently rolling hills provide some subtly tricky elevation changes. There isn't any water on the golf course but there are mature trees lining the fairways. While it may not be what you're looking for if you're an avid golfer who wants a truly formidable test, Agawam Municipal Golf Course is not to be under-estimated. The greens can be tricky to pitch to and accuracy will take you far. This municipal course is a great spot for a quick and casual round that's also affordable.

Challenges at Agawam generally require accuracy instead of strength. This short par4, the twelfth, exemplifies that idea. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/10/2026

Fun
This was the first time playing the person in the pro shop was friendly and very helpful. The course was in great shape and was crowded the pace was good and it was a very enjoyable round .i will definitely return evevtthough it’s an hour drive
Good greens value
Course much better conditions than other reviewers said Greens nice after aeration played back nine twice to avoid waiting!
Hello u236695427. Thank you for taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass along your feedback to the staff so they can work to make sure your next visit is nothing short of 5 stars! Thanks for visiting us!
Shame!
Too many bad players and too Slow!!!
Waiting on the Tee box too long to hit !
Not good for business!!
Great round
Fairways are good. Pace of play excellent. Very friendly staff
Absolutely Horrific Conditions
I have played this track at least 50 times. This is the worst it has ever been and probably the worst course conditions I have ever played on. Most of the greens were basically half sand trap and half green; the greens were aerated (in August) but there was nothing said about it on GolfNow; the fairways were burnt to a crisp in some areas and completely soaked in others even though it hadn’t rained in 3 days! It used to be a fun track. I will never go back.
They must be selling out to a solar farm so they are half assed thing this year. Worse conditions than Hickory Ridge where a solar farm is also being put in.
par
Course was not in good shape. The greens were washed out after last rain storm. The course was very wet in spots.
Pace of play was good.
The tee boxes also need work, besides greens. Should have been given a discount for the shape of the course.
summer play
I scored like I was bowling but enjoyed the play. Course still had a lot of ground water on both the front and back holes.
Golfnow great price
Played for $20 including cart.
Took 3 hours to play 18!!
Nice Municipal course
Nice Municipal course with a great staff, new carts with GPS. Challenging greens in nice condition.
Nice Day in the country
Pace of play was great. 4 hot deal singles. I was first there and out to play. 2.5 hours. Easier course with some long 5s. No issues and played well. Played once before in fall and much nicer with all the rain this spring.
Great course
I like this course because of the layout. The purse is open so you don’t lose a lot of balls. You can score. Different elevations makes it challenging. One of my favorite places to play.
Friendly staff, nice course
My first time playing here and I will be back. Started with a GREAT Golf Now price and got early tee time. I was playing alone, got out first and played 18 holes in just over 2 hours. The course is fun, and has a few good challenges. When I said it was my first time here, the young guy in the pro shop got me a course book, and it REALLY helped guide me through each hole. As for one, you will be glad to have it! There was a JR golf academy there around 9:30 on the practice green and going off for a round, which is really cool, but you might want to as about when booking a time.
Interesting....
First time here.
Greens were challenging. Hardly any “straight “ putts.
Hole 16.... need to correct granite slab at the tee box. It shows a straight hole when in Reality it is a full dog leg left. We nailed our tee balls a tad left of center only to find our balls way out of position.
Hole 16.... no granite map at tee box. We played to the top of the hill with our 2nd shot, WRONG PLACE TO BE. The hole was an easily accessible in 2 shots to the right of the big tree.
Pace was 3 3/4 hours!!!
We will be back!!’
course was in great shape the pro and staff where great
Great value
Typical muni that is pretty well maintained. If it’s not crowded you can finish 18 in under 3 hours. Fully stocked 18 took 4.5 waiting on every shot.
The course needs a starter to no allow singles and doubles go off on a crowded Saturday. No beverage cart, no range very few water jugs around. Conditions are average. Much better than some in the areas but greens are very bumpy causing a lot of difficulty. Overall very enjoyable though.
Terrific time
Got here on Saturday, 6/15/2019 for an early fathers day gift. Played with my son and his soon to be best man at his wedding. I shot well for me (86), but I was familiar with the course and they weren't. But we all had a very good time on a great day. The course has some basic holes but it also has some testers, 9,10, 16, 17 come immediately to mind.
Terrific day, no one was pushing for faster play, just an enjoyable round. I will be back.
Great day for golf
The course was in good condition. The 150yrd par 4, 6 hole, was interesting, but rest of course good.
