Awesome Experience
Play here virtually every weekend and do so for a reason. Love the lay out, conditions and challenge of the course. Very well run and overall highly recommend. Have played about 10 rounds so far this year and each week it gets better and better, greens almost back to mid summer form...probably another week until they get there but thats just New England spring weather. Tee boxes and fairways are pristine and the undulations and large greens make it challenging to ensure you place the ball in the correct spot in the fairway and under the hole on the greens.
I typically go out in the morning and staff does a great job of getting everyone out on time and adapting to changes. Grounds crew is dedicated and well-mannered/aware of golfers in the area. We have a lot of options in Mass but again, I come back here every weekend and cannot say enough about the place. Highly highly recommend for singles or a group of buddies.
Greens in embarrassing shape
Waverly Oaks is one of my favorite courses in the Greater Boston area, so I was looking forward to playing today using a GolfNow Hot Deal. I had played Pinehills Nicklaus 4 days prior and expected similar conditions. I was shocked to find Waverly's greens patchy and bare -- our putts would bump along instead of rolling smoothly.
I have never seen the greens there in such bad condition. It will take some time before they come in properly so beware.
Thank you for the time you took to review our course and regret that your experience was not up to your expectation. We had a reaction with a dormant fertilizer application . Waverly Oaks is working diligently to correct this issue. Each week our greens have improved and our expectation is that will continue.
Nice layout
Really enjoyed the layout. Little dissapointed in the tees we played, green tees says there around 6200 but played more like 5600-5800. Big greens ,player friendly.
Thank you for your 4 star review. We continually move our tees to spread the wear and tear on the tee-boxes. You caught the course on a day that the tees were moved up. Look forward to you trying the course again.
Buddy Golf in Plymouth
We had a unseasonably warm day in October to pick a place to do 18.....and was pleased to play Waverly Oaks. Golf course was in great shape!! Some really interesting holes. #9,13 and 17. All fun think it out holes. Clubhouse is spectacular!! Overlooking #18 on one side and practice green on back side. Staff was all very friendly especially the starter( wish I had gotten his name). Course was definitely a play again in spring choice for us.
Not pleased
The staff were excellent nothing against the employees great help everywhere I went. But the course itself I found was overall not that great. I felt as if it wasn't in good shape, the fairways and greens were well kept but outside of that I wasn't pleased. The rough seemed to be burnt out, the layout was boring, overall I found this course to be a little overrated, and I will not be returning.
