Stow South at Stow Acres Country Club

South Course used to be a fun track, now outside of most of the greens, the rest of the course is either burnt out or hard dirt with little grass. Too bad

This place just hasn't been the same since the prior owner started to let it go and the superintendent was replaced. Bright white bunkers (far too thick anyway) and good greens do not make up for all of the other issues on the course beginning with the $79 price. This course (both sides) get plenty of play to keep their conditions strong despite dry weather just as other nice courses in the area do. The tee boxes were rock solid, the fairways are inconsistent and the rough was burnt out grass which just vanished as your swung through it. I get variations to make a course harder (rough thickness etc) but that's simply not the case.

$79 for the courses conditions is simply a rip off. While the greens were in good shape the tee boxes were rock solid, the fairways were inconsistent and the rough in many spots were like hitting from dirt. We played the south course and it was tough. Very tight, but rewarding if you hit well. I hear the north course is even harder. One possible opportunity...the greens are in good shape but the tee boxes and fairways could use a little TLC. Play this a course to see what narrow means. Nice and private play in every hole.

Greens need water,fairways need more, no water to even wash your balls n for the second very hot day there no water to drink on the course!!

Who is running this place now and do they have anyone working on the course itself!!

This was one of the finest public courses in the state n now just a great course that no one seems to care about!!

First time playing this course. Was in very nice shape. They spaced the groups very well.

Used to play here all the time but the last 2 owners have done nothing to make the conditions better!!

greens very slow , really had to hammer long shots. fairways ok ,roughs all different in grass and length.

I don't understand the hype. The conditions of the fairways, rough, and a few greens left a lot to be desired. The bunkers were nice though--new sand tinted to a brilliant white (lime?). The greens were shaggy and slow, the rough was often bare dirt. The layout is OK, but nothing really special--just another course. Can you say "dogleg"? You'd better be able to on this course! The greens are good-sized and many holes have ample landing areas. Nice and walkable too. So a good local golf experience but nothing really special or memorable. Lots of outings and leagues, so expect slow play.

Stock up with drinks because there is no water on the course. We even called the clubhouse and they confirmed "no water". The beer cart finally showed up as we were teeing off at the 18th. Also, many front tee boxes were in regular grass, not a manicured tee box. They remodeled the clubhouse nicely, but the food is beyond bad,

The grass condition was average. The grass condition of the rough area or near the sand bunkers was really bad.

One of the players in our threesome said this is not a championship course.

I also felt that the grass was not cut properly in the rough area.

The grass in the fairways was nice.

The greens were really bumpy. The greens need to be aerated.

The trees were also getting in the play even if the ball was in the fairway.

Overall, this course requires rough grass, green grass, and tree services.

On the plus side, people were really friendly! I had an awesome time interacting with them.

Under new ownership, the course is looking spectacular. Greens were a bit slow, but I suspect they were letting hem grow in a bit given this insane Spring. At any rate, they putted true. I'll definitely be coming back more than once.

Beautiful course played in totally senerity. Holes are nicely layed out throughout the wooded property. Staff had a great attitude. Highly recommend this golf course. Great value great golf.

The conditions were not as good as I remembered from past play. It's been 5 years or more since I played at Stow. Some bunkers had new sand. Some had NO sand.
