Wild Laurel Golf Course

We went with our family that had one person that never played and another that rarely plays and it was a perfect course for them to learn on. Pace of play was great and even our more experienced players enjoyed the layout. Condition of the course could use a little help but overall was great for our purpose. Not a place I would take players with very high expectations.

Tee boxes need to be cut badly, fairways are coming in. 2 greens are in serious need of help. Overall the course appears to be coming around for the better. Don’t give up on the course, they are working on things. MUCH better shape than it has been the last 2 years. Pleasantly surprised, keep up the progress Wild Laurel.

Love this course and hope it does well but the conditions of the course were very poor. Fairways were full crab grass, were overgrown from not being mowed. Greens were in horrible condition. Tee boxes were overgrown. Hope they can get this thing back in good shape. They should have offered us a discount for playing on a course in that bad shape.

The course is really nice when you come up to the clubhouse. The clubhouse and pool are awesome. The staff that I interacted with were all really nice. It’s definitely a pretty challenging course with a lot of blind shots. Rolling hills. The only negative was that the tee boxes almost all needed mowing, and the fairways had been mowed when they were high so they had lots of thick chunks of grass. The greens were all great with the exception of maybe 3 of them. It’s a beautiful backdrop playing in the mountains but I do feel that it’s about $15 to $20 dollars more than it’s worth. But I would play here again when we come back to Townsend.

The course is in the best condition it has been in a long tome. Almost all the greens are near perfect and the fairways are showing promising growth. Keep at it staff, please

From the moment you pull up and park the views are stunning looking at the GSNP. The course is challenging but forgiving. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Me and my wife will be going back.

Course is much more playable than in recent visits. The greens were not mowed on a Saturday morning and that was disappointing. This course just needs a little TLC and it could be so much better. Greens are way better than they have been in the past.

I will not play there again. You can’t tell the difference between the rough or the fairway because there really is not a fairway. It was the same with the tee boxes. Very disappointed and not worth the money. Staff great course no way!

Fun course. Really like the layout. Played it a lot over the years. Some of the fairways need some work. We’ve had a ton of rain lately so maybe just a little over grown because of that. On the bright side pace of play was fantastic and the greens were in very good shape. Overall a really enjoyable round.

I played this course on an eleventh hour booking. The rains have been hit and miss so you grab them and play when you can. This course is beautifully located ion the west side of the Smokey mountains. The greens were very nice but the fairways were some of the worst that I have ever played. How expensive is grass seed and weed and feed anyway? This course could be a gold mine with some TLC. I doubt that I’ll go back anytime soon. There are lots of other courses out there. I hope this helps.

Wow is all I want to say. I play here every couple of months and want to say the greens are in the best shape I have seen in 5 or 6 years. I see they are working hard on fixing a few tee boxes as well. I will play here more often now

This course has a great layout. Challenging without horrible shortcuts that some course layouts have. The conditions have been excellent until the last few years. We have seen a gradual decline of regular course maintenance. Fairways not supported. Poison Ivey everywhere along the edges of the fairways. Bunkers not maintained well. And now a couple of tee boxes roped off as “under repair”, but no visible work in progress. We hope that course maintenance improves for one of our favorite courses in the past.

The course layout is great. It looks like they are in the process of doing some needed upkeep. Some of the cartpaths have pot holes. The fairways aren't that great, so you'll need to find some grass on some of them. The greens were in good shape, and that is the most important thing to me.

It was worth the two hour drive to play. The whole drive through and around the Smoky Mountains is awesome.

Greens will be in good shape soon but fairways and tee boxes are terrible. This is a great course layout and a beautiful place to play but the condition is very bad.
