Wild Laurel Golf Course

Greens were lush and moderate speed. Fairways have grown in very well. Even got to see a bear on the back nine fairway. Met up with a couple of young men and enjoyed the round with them. Don't pass up playing this course.

Fist time playing the course. The layout was fun. However you couldn’t tell where the fairway ended and the rough began. Lots of crabgrass everywhere, even on tee boxes. Greens weren’t too bad. Soft and slow. Saw a couple of fivesomes out there, but didn’t effect us. Not much drinking water on the course. Definitely needs some work to improve the condition. No yardage markings, even on the tee boxes for par 3s. Had to do a lot of guessing. Probably wouldn’t play this course again.

So a buddy and I decided to make the trip out to play a round of golf here. Upon arrival (30 minutes early) we were informed that they double booked; not the worst problem, but a little inconvenient to be paired with someone we don’t know. So the layout of the course was quite nice with some great views of the smokies, but the course itself was absolutely terrible. The tee boxes were the best kept part of the course. The fairways were terribly kept, I truly think I’ve seen better kept farm land than this course. The greens looked abysmal at best even after being freshly groomed by staff. I believe a blind man could maintain this course better that the current staff. I would recommend playing with good golf balls simply because your ball could be the only fancy thing this course sees all day and it needs as much help as it can get.

This was a great course for the money. Pace of play was disappointing due to large groups bogging down play. A few of the greens were burnt but still very playable. Will most certainly be returning

Greens were in decent shape, at best. Fairways were full of big clumps of grass and were like hitting out of cow pastures. There was a foursome in front of us that were taking their sweet time, listening to music, playing best ball, just wasting everyone else’s time. We payed for 18, but left after the front 9. Probably won’t go back.

We played after several days of rain, so cartpath only. A little hard to find our way around, but we managed. We enjoyed it very much.

The grass in the fairways was ankle deep. Yes, in the fairways. The tees were so hard you couldn't get a tee in them. Greens were in okay shape. The owner recently did a huge upgrade to the clubhouse, but obviously does not understand what it takes to run a golf course. The gnats were so bad they'd carry you away. There were probably 8 people in the bar area when we rounded 9 and thought we could get at least a hot dog. The bar tender completely ignored us. Finally, we asked, and he said he had a big order just come in so it would be a while before we could get a piece of meat slapped on a bun.

The staff was rude and the course including fairways and tee boxes looked like it hadn’t been mowed in a week.

Course is layed out fairly well but they had not mowed fairways and tee boxes. Several times me and my partner hit the ball in the fairway and had trouble finding it.

Beautiful course but fairways could be more evenly cut, many sections of higher grass (I’m not referring to the rough areas). When it was time for us to start on first tee there was a group of people hanging on the course. My husband had to ask them to move so we could play. They were out for a leisurely walk. Play was slow due to 3some ahead of us who were sharing clubs. One man spent more time looking for lost shots. I’m not sure why marshall didn’t ask him to let us and double behind us to play through.

The holes are challenging and well marked. Fun to play.

Love this place. Love it. Great hole in the wall 18 hole course shoots 70. Views here have to be in top 100 in entire country, but the course itself can't say it's a manicured $75/round club. But that's ok. The pace of play is entirely yours, many times even on weekends there just aren't too many folks on the course. Wife and I bought pool membership. She sits by the pool and I get a good round in. Most folks here are vacationers staying in cabins around the hills here. And just to note, the course plays well to folks with good accuracy, most of the roughs here are simply overgrown fringe Southeastern forest scrub, very hard to find wayward hit balls, so bring provisions.

For the owners here I say come and enjoy...for a player member I say stay away and leave it to myself!!!

This is a very beautiful course. It’s just challenging enough to keep you on your toes. Awesome staff and clubhouse. Ready to play there again.

The greens need to be a bit faster and some fairways are a bit rugged. However, considering the recent weather, everything is coming along very well. We enjoyed our round and played fairly close to our averages.

The carts were super and the staff great. Thanks to Beau for making us feel welcome. The lodge was a welcome reward after our round.

My son and I have watched and played along with the rebuild here for the last couple of years. And i have to say to the superintendent and management that it has turned out awesome. We look forward to playing a lot of golf here. And hopefully a stay and play deal is in the works. Because this is a beautiful piece of property
