Good deal
The course was in decent shape. Fairways a little rough. Greens wer decent but a few had some rough spots. Overall it was good for the price. Part of the attraction here is the view. It's absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely play here again.
Mountain Course
It was a beautiful day on the course. Pace was great and course was in good condition. Little tight.
Thank you for your review, jrm15933. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Wild Laurel Golf Course. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
A Mountain Gem
Course is Great. Some holes are leaf covered, just a few. Greens are good. It’s almost November and playing golf still.
Thank you for your review, Ralph36. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Wild Laurel Golf Course. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Hidden Gem
Laurel Valley(Wild Laurel) is a good workout that mostly only locals attend. Goodly amounts of funding is bringing the course into a great condition. Summertime is a challenge due to some environmental issues(black flies) but I believe the course management is working on that and it is not enough to completely inhibit play. Golf now handed me a really good rate so everything was completely enjoyable.
Wow, we are so happy you enjoyed your round! We are investing in our golf course to give our golfers excellent conditions and experiences. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
A mountain course.
Nice but rough around the edges. The layout is a touch above average. Greens are mostly good but fairways are below average. Soggy in places and the grass is not very good. It’s a bargain because you can play here cheap! The layout and.price make it a course you will play again. There is no driving range and the practice green is tiny.
Real Potiential
My wife and I played in really pleasant weather-important to us. It is a bit out there in its location, but it was a pleasant scenic albeit slow winding drive. The Pro shop attendant was very nice, quickly checked us in. They were busy with a couple large groups that tee'd off earlier, so they were a bit short of golf carts But within 15 mins., we were teeing off. The course fairways had a mixture of weeds and grass-mostly weeds. They were mowed which made this less obvious until you addressed your ball. Not a really big deal but that will depend on your expectations and where you are used to playing. There is a lot of good variety to the course, (doglegs, elevation changes, altitude, undulations, blind shots etc.) Those are facts, what is an opinion is the greens were VERY slow (greens had not been mowed/rolled recently and were soft when we played-your milage may vary. Rakes were not included on our cart and I believe I saw 2 rakes but many more bunkers. It is an observation worth mentioning because I feel it is an injustice to anyone that would want to do the right thing and rake the bunker but not have the means to do so. For first timers like us, not having a scorecard that was "readable" or a tee box placard or cart display as to layout was a bit odd because of so many blind shots, hills, and unseen obstacles etc.. For me to hit a beautiful solid tee shot down the middle of the fairway and see it go over a ridge and find out my ball rolled into a creek that I had no idea existed was a bit frustrating. Going from green to the next tee was pretty much a guessing game because of minimal direction or signage. I am not nitpicking, these are items that will simply speed up the game. Small changes by the golf course will bring big benefits to golfers immediately and the course soon after-IMHO. Having said all that, I paid very little money $14 ea. to play, so these are observations more than complaints because I think this course with a few changes could be really special.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We have made improvements on the greens in the last couple weeks. We purchased a roller that should help speed up the greens and make for a more enjoyable round! Thanks for visiting Wild Laurel Golf Course. We hope to see you again in the future.
Creative, challenging and fair
I got mixed up with directions to the course, hint GPS may tell you to turn right on laurel rd, but don't, keep going straight. So was late but staff worked me in anyway, so kudos to them. Signage between holes could be improved, but I enjoyed it. Next time I will know better where to position my drives. Greens where good and the wildlife on the fairways was neat. Beautiful spot.
Thank you for taking the time to review us u000001220491. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Wild Laurel Golf Course thanks you!
Gem in the mountains
Really liked the course. Very creative and fair, but challenging. Since I was a first timer there, had a bit of trouble with the layout and several times couldn't figure out where the tee box for the next hole was or the best direction to hit the ball. Some of the landing areas were blind from the Tee and next time I will know better where to hit the ball. It is over an hour from home, but will go again.
Hi u000001220491. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Wild Laurel Golf Course.
Just a plain fun course
The only reason I gave them a course condition three star, has nothing to do with the efforts to maintain the course. The problem is the same problem every course in Tennessee is having, we are having a drought. I think given the conditions of the weather I think the course management staff is doing a great Job. The course itself was a lot of fun. And yes I had club down because of the dry conditions but it made you think about every shot The course itself was a lot of fun. And yes I had club down because of the dry conditions but it made you think about every shot. Remember Golf is all about playing the conditions. And the challenge of the conditions

Nice mountain course
Greens were aerated one week ago and still had considerable amount of sand one the greens which affected putts. Fairway grass was just okay. It was apparent that course was being upgraded. Very nice layout. Several sets of tees to accommodate all levels of players. All club house employees were very pleasant and helpful. We had a very pleasant round.

Players taking a football break!!!
For starters, we teed off early afternoon with 2 groups in front and one behind us. But once we got to the 6th hole, multiple carts came and surrounded us and the groups around. Those people were groups of 4 and 5 and they should have been done playing but took a break to go to the lodge and watch Tennessee get beat by Florida in college football. This slowed up play big time as these guys were restarting where they left off. Management should not let this crap happen. Pace of play got stupid slow and we skipped a couple holes on the back and didnt complete a full round. Beware playing here on a football weekend or call to see if management is allowing this to happen when you want to play. SMH!!

Thank you for letting us know and taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!

Great time
Always a pleasure to play this course. The staff is so friendly and the Actor play amenities are fantastic. By the way folks use a little bug spray and the little guys will never bother you.
Beauty in the mountains
For being a first time golfer to this beautiful course. I found the hole identification of the next hole a little difficult. The cart path was marked just hard to follow not being a local. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The course was in excellent condition, enjoy the elevation changes. The golf course was just beautiful can’t imagine what the course would look like with the fall foliage. When in the area again I will return to this beautiful and challenging beauty in the mountains.

I love the layout of this course. Greens roll true.
Hot Weather, Smokin' Hot Course
This was the closet GolfNow Deal during our first day of staying in Gatlinburg, but it was well worth the 53 minute mountain drive.
Even with previous days of 90+ temperatures the course was in superb condition - fairways and greens rolled true, there were minimal water hazards, and the rough consisted mostly of wooded areas. In addition, the mountain scenery helped us tolerate our bad golf.
You get the full "valley golf" effect right out of the gate on the first few holes. #1 is a curvy, left-right, 540 yard downhill par 5 into a blind green. Step onto the #2 tee and you're looking at a 160 yard par 3 with at least a 50 foot drop to the green. From there you play the "flatlands" until turning uphill toward #9. Then you start the descent again on #10 with a steep downhill par 3. From there you play the back 9 around the hillsides until coming home on the par 5 #18.
The course is listed as par 70, and while that might seem fair for men the ladies might prefer a couple of the long par 3's be made into par 4's.
We enjoyed our time so much we came back the next day for another sweltering day of... golf in the Smokies.
Thanks for the 5-star rating of us! Please come back again soon for another awesome experience!
