Windy day
The course was well maintained it was windy and because greens were fast wind affected putting in learned to put with wind so good experience
Bizarre that staff could care less about the Course
Playing golf in April in Michigan means you know it's going to be soggy & plays similar to fall.
They had signs everywhere CART PATH ONLY ALL 18...makes sense because with standing water certain places a cart can do damage. So after witnessing group ahead completely ignore posted signs and even having to drive near greens because most cart paths were roped off....so I called clubhouse and asked if they cared & was told he'd send a ranger out...never did a anything & were at least 5-6 guys in or in front of clubhouse but they could care less that course was being torn up.
A real bunch of SOBs
Great course, great price, like being in a nature park
We live in the area and always see these holes from the highway and think, "we should go there", but then forget about it when booking tee times. This year we made a point to get out and try it and we were not disappointed. It's a great little course tucked away off the main road in Chelsea, and you'd never see it there if you weren't looking for the sign.
The course design is pretty fun, lots of holes cut through woods, trees planted/left standing to give you a hard time, swamps/ponds to shoot over and other natural obstacles that make it a fun course to play. I also really liked the feeling of being in nature, and in a park setting, while golfing. A few holes you can see a building or a house, but for the most part there are none in sight.
One thing to note; they have probably the best cart path I've ever seen at any course. It looks like a brand new asphalt path that is continuous throughout the entire 18 holes. So on muddy days like the day we went (early spring) it was nice to have a solid path to stay on.
Lastly, I did ding it a bit because we were paired up with another couple. I really dislike when courses do that (and I'm guessing pretty much everyone does). I don't go out golfing to golf with a stranger. And IMO it slows things down compared to sending the two pairs out back to back; half the time we were trying to figure out the other's pace of play or what kind of rules they follow. It's especially problematic when one pair is better than the other. I think it probably slowed us down by about 30 minutes over the 18 holes.
But overall, this was a really great course for a really decent price. I'm excited to go back when the weather warms up and there are leaves on the trees; I suspect that will make it even more challenging.
First course this year
Great experience shot a 88, white tees, front greens aerated but still fun
Great course even in bad weather
had some sporadic rain/sleet but course was still fun to play and challenging, staff were helpful, carts are nice, course conditions good, front nine the greens were aerated but they still played nice.
great course
Could only play the back nine, as the front nne was closed for cart path reconstruction. This is one of my very favorite courses to play. Not extremely challenging, but challenging enough to make this course onr of the courses that is a "MUST PLAY"
Hard but great coarse conditions
Coarse was in great condition but if you can’t hit irons straight or drives straight then I would not recommend..front nine was closed due to some work being..didn’t know kinda wish it said on here..staff very friendly and helpful
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Pierce Lake Golf Course, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Sweet track
Only could play the back nine front nine was closed. I will be back great great golf course.
Suggestion
I would like to suggest that you invest in a few of hitting nets and some range balls so we would have an opportunity to take a few full swings to get warmed up. There should be plenty of room for this in the current practise area.
Great time
Beautiful course! I played with a friend and really enjoyed playing the course. Super friendly staff. The starter was very helpful explaining the layout of the course to us since it was our first time.
We played twice and we will be back to play again!
Always love coming to play this course because it is the best value around. The staff is always friendly and smiling which makes you feel comfortable for your round.
Worst pace enforcement I’ve ever seen. Horrendous layout.
I won’t expound on the layout, as maybe some rather masochistic players enjoy it. But the pace of play is absolutely tragic, with evidently no real enforcement whatsoever. There is a Ranger who seems friendly enough, and I believe he does drive around and occasionally “talk to” a group here & there that is taking too long, but he then drives on having head zero effect on their pace or behavior. Groups are taking over 20-25 minutes to complete a single hole, without so much as a glance behind them to see how badly they’re holding up play.
