Timber Ridge Golf Course

About
Timber Ridge Golf Course was carefully carved from a mature tree nursery that was planted in the 1940s. As a result, the course enjoys more than 60 varieties of trees throughout. The designer, Jerry Matthews, wanted to not only preserve the trees but also work with the existing hills and wetlands so that the course blended seamlessly into the natural environment. The golf course sits atop one of Clinton County's highest elevations, providing a variety of undulations that range from subtle to dramatic. The contours of the landscape determined the placement of the holes and routing of the course. Towering pines and hardwoods frame the holes, giving each one a secluded feel without feeling tight. Timber Ridge Golf Course finishes with a classic and challenging hole that features an undulating, two-tiered green that is fronted by a daunting water hazard.

Hidden gem
Great Up North layout without having the 3-4 hour drive to actually go there. Greens rolled well for this time of year.
Enjoyable course
You best be hitting the ball straight coming here, very enjoyable course though. Would recommend!
Tight and Challenging
Course was in great shape and the staff was very nice and on top of it. Course was so tight that very few holes are driver salvable. If you're lucky to be GIR then the long windy greens are the round killer. Enjoy
Great shape, hard course if you have never played here before but worth it!
Tough course, but in great shape and very playable. The kind of golf course you need to play a few times to know how to attack it. Highly recommend this course.
The hidden gem of mid-Michigan, greens are always in meticulous condition and the course provides a real mental test. Only downside is that the pro shop doesn’t seem very welcoming when you book through golfnow.
This Is a Positive Rating...
But this wasn't a 5 Star course.
4.1 star course all day. Very good course. Fwys were plush. Greens were med and fair.
No practice range or visible chipping green. Pro shop just carried basic necessities. Staff was friendly enough. Carts are dated.
If you live within a 30 mile radiius this course should definitely be in the mix. But not unique enough to demand 1.5 hr drive. Not even an hour drive.
Again, GOOD COURSE. Just not a great course.
Best course I played this year!
Course was in excellent condition. The staff Neal could not of been any nicer. If I could I would play this course every day. And I play a lot of golf. I drove 95 miles to play here. Worth every penny! Plus I shot a 74.
Course is maintained nicely
Timber Ridge is a great course, maintained nicely and free wet towels to clean your clubs. People to help with your cart & clubs. Pretty good food & a sweet nice girl to help you at the food counter :)
Have to think your way around this course.
Great experience. Staff was very friendly. You have to think your way around this course. Great layout and beautiful condition. The greens were very receptive and relatively quick. Some holes you have to put the driver away but plenty of opportunities to hit driver as well. The par 3’s are really fun! Will be back again!
