Timber Ridge Golf Course

About
Timber Ridge Golf Course was carefully carved from a mature tree nursery that was planted in the 1940s. As a result, the course enjoys more than 60 varieties of trees throughout. The designer, Jerry Matthews, wanted to not only preserve the trees but also work with the existing hills and wetlands so that the course blended seamlessly into the natural environment. The golf course sits atop one of Clinton County's highest elevations, providing a variety of undulations that range from subtle to dramatic. The contours of the landscape determined the placement of the holes and routing of the course. Towering pines and hardwoods frame the holes, giving each one a secluded feel without feeling tight. Timber Ridge Golf Course finishes with a classic and challenging hole that features an undulating, two-tiered green that is fronted by a daunting water hazard.

Great course, a must play in the Lansing area
All aspects top notch.
Great course in Great condition
up north feel
Well maintained course with up north feel as most holes are tree lined and apart from other holes. Greens are quick.
Love this course!
Always happy to play here. It’s a well maintained beautiful course.
Timber Ridge GC - play on 5 Oct 2020
Had a long drive, got to course 1 1/2 hour before tee time...pro shop said I could go any time....and I did. Met a guy on 1st tee, we paired up and he showed me around course and where to hit or not. Screwed up on 1st tee, no warm up or stretching I selected driver - bad choice, should have hit 3-wood. Played the hybrid format - I am 73 1/2 years old, all my shafts are Senior flex.
Small sand-filled plugged greens, they had not winter plugged yet with thunb-sized holes. Greens still were fast and true - with 50 degree temp. Beautiful, playable course, a couple of forced carries - not bad though; a lot of holes could be Timber Ridge's "signature hole".
Well worth the drive, where ever you live.

Beautiful course and greens are a challenge. Nice track to experience up North golfing in mid michigan.
Wedges
Greens were outstanding. Course in great condition. Very fun to play. Need to manicure the 11th hole. It has great potential for a beautiful hole.
TimberRidge Golf Course
Beautiful day at the golf course. Course was very well manicured. Greens were very fast. Scenery on the course was great as leaves are just starting to get some color to them.
Bang for your Buck!
this course offers challenging holes and great scenery, always a joy to play. Highly recommend anyone looking for a challenge. Side note 8f your in a hurry don't play here.
Beautiful surroundings and hole designs
Most beautiful course within 150 miles. Each hole has an interesting layout which makes you think your away around the course giving you a chance to use all the clubs in the bag. Fairways can be tight, but fair and reward good T shots, as it should be. Greens are fast but true, and can be tricky.
Played three times there in past month and each round was both frustrating and rewarding. Staff was professional and friendly. Highly recommend.
Great Course
Beautiful golf course. I felt like I was up north while only a couple of miles from East Lansing. Play was extremely slow at one point on a par 5 we had 3 groups on the tee box.
