Still A Good Solid Track for the Money
Fairways and greens in good shape! Tee boxes beat up due to the high volume of play from less experienced golfers. A nice test of golf!
Golf ⛳️
Fun golf course to play! Greens are in great condition. Nice layout.
Decent Course
Decent course layout! Only thing that was a bother was pace of play as we had to wait at least five minutes on every tee box as the group in front of us played like snails.
Great spot. Beginner golfer here.
Signed up solo and was paired with another solo golfer. Great conversation. Chris, on staff there, was so very welcoming and gave me a great layout of the course and hole details. The course is in great shape. Tee’d off right on time. No driving range on Thursdays for now when they mow. Cart comes with tee time. Enjoy and hit em straight.
Weekends are now 10 min tee time intervals
The course is pretty, is always in good condition (tee boxes need to be cut shorter), has very large greens, and relatively open. It is not too challenging of a course (the slope from the tips is only 124), just need to keep your tee shots in play and you will score well. Half of the holes have no greenside bunkers, and there's only a few fairway bunkers in play. Water doesn't really come into play here, although there is marsh/high grass if you miss on a few holes.
I used to avoid the Metroparks courses on weekends because it was always a full tee sheet with tee times spaced out 8 minutes. You would arrive to a mid-day tee time and they would be 3-4 groups behind, and you would be lucky to make the turn at a 2:30 pace. They finally listened to their customers and spaced weekends out to 10 minutes (they should do this for weekdays as well). The Metroparks also changed their frequent golfer program rewards so that everyone (not just seniors) gets a free round after 5 rounds.
There is a grass range open to all (not just those with a tee time), but the grass isn't cut short enough, there's not enough seed, no distance markers, and you lose visual once your ball goes over ~220 yards due to the slope. There are a ton of bugs/mosquitoes on the range depending on the time of day/year. There is a large practice putting green and a smaller chipping area. Carts are zero frills - no GPS, no coolers, no divot mix, no GPS. Cart paths are bumpy. The course doesn't have ball cleaners or water out (yet?) this year.
