Metamora Golf & Country Club
About
Metamora Golf & Country Club is a championship course located in the northern suburbs of Detroit. The parkland layout has a beautifully rolling terrain that provides dramatic elevation changes throughout. The course has a balance of excellent shot values and interesting challenges that will appeal to players of all skill levels. The greens can be especially tricky since they are fast, undulating, and often putt downhill. There are numerous bunkers lurking around the greens and water hazards come into play on nearly every hole, 16 to be exact. Proper club selection and accurate shot placement will be generously rewarded but the golf course is not overly punishing if you're a little off your game. The signature hole is the par-5 third, which requires an approach shot to an island green.

Scenic and challenging course.
I enjoyed the up north feel of this course. Plenty of trees and elevation changes. And length if you choose.
nice course
The condition of the course was great. It was well kept. The staff was very friendly. The pace of play was slow, we waited on a lot of shots. But, it was a perfect day, so i expected it to be busy. This a tough course, it seemed like there was a blind shot on every hole. That is my only set back with the course itself. Plus, i think thats what slows the play too.
Excellent track
We had played the course years ago, and I now remember why I enjoyed the track. Difficult, but not too tough. Some of the cart paths and roads needs some work, but the course is in good shape. It had rained hard the day before, but it drained well.
Metamora
This course was very nice there is no Rangers so Pacers play is slow lots of kids food is a little on the high side courses in great condition some greens are a little damaged but would recommend to all
Worth the trip
Great views and course. Played an extra 9 and enjoyed every hole! It's the 4th course I've played in this area and have yet to be disappointed
Very fair playable course with interesting holes
I had a 10:30 tee time. When I arrived at the tee,the three players suggested I play through, and I finished the 18 hole round in two hours.36 on the first nine and 41 on the second. A very enjoyable round with beautiful weather.
Course in great shape!
On a whim, decided to go out in the afternoon and booked a tee time for Metamora and got out early and the course was in awesome shape. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Pace moved nicely with no significant wait.
Great course and facilities
Visited this course this past weekend. Many courses in these areas have had issues with the greens having winter damage. This course is no exception and it looks like the greens are still recovering. Nonetheless this course was in great condition and the staff was extremely friendly. Beverage cart was seen at least 4 times through the round and although I wasn't buying it was good to see. The course plays tough with strategic looks at the greens. Overall I was impressed with the course and the facilities. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
Metamora CC 7-14-15
very nice course, greens had recently been sanded. some of the water holes had an abundance of goose residue. greens easy to reach from the whites. a certain amount of target golf and blind shots, which made it interesting. Only real complaint is the cart was governed so low it barely made it up some of the hills. definitely play it again.
Metamora - must play!
First time playing Metamora after hearing good things about it. I've played other courses in the area (Devil's Ridge, Boulder Pointe) and Metamora is equal if not better than them. The course has lots of elevation changes throughout with plenty of holes with water in play. It's a must play and I'll definitely play it again!
Great Value
Played the blues. Beautiful scenic course. Target golf..a good challenge...greens were in great shape..a few blind shots that I was not fond of, but overall a great first time experience. I would certainly go back!
Great course!
Tough front nine followed by a much easier back nine. Great conditions when I played. Can't comment on pace of play as I was the only one out there . Played 18 in 3 hours, taking my time.
Highly recommend this course. Not sure what the regular rates are,but my Golfnow rate was an absolute steal.
Blind Shots
Nice course and great price. Just to many blind shots especially on the back 9.
Nice course--WAY TOO SLOW
Good hot deal made the price irresistible, but had tondrive way out to the course and, though it is pretty nice, had to give up after a 3-hour front 9. Overbooks, needs pace regulation, wouldn't recommend.
nice course
Fun course, nice greens and fairways, challenging over water shots
Metamora has a great layout with some memorable holes
Our foursome played here for the first time on May 3rd, 2015 during the last day of our annual Michigan golf trip. The track has an excellent mix of difficult and forgiving holes. The layout overall is very beautiful with many memorable and scenic holes. Plenty of elevation changes and blind shots keeps you honest. Many greens are forced-carry over water and can be very tricky to putt on due to undulation and severe slopes.
The overall course condition for the first week of May is reasonable, but you do notice a lot of deadspots (mud/clay) along the rough and cart path. Greens are a bit slow during our round and tee boxes were a little beaten up. This may or may not be indicative of their conditions year-round. But I would give Metamora the benefit of the doubt that they would be in much better condition during prime season.
Friendly staff, excellent value and a truly wonderful layout makes Metamora a very good place to play.
Pretty good Course. Nice Views.
Some really nice holes but overall did not love the layout but at $25 per round a good value. Challenging for the first time player as course has some tight holes and know where to miss is helpful. Greens are very nice and undulating so playing the course a few times would prove helpful for green reading. At under $30 a good value.
every good at this course
we had a awesome time from the time we got there til we were done
what a great staff - even better course
it's a upnorth course
This course was fun and challenging
I loved my first round of golf at this course! The staff was very professional and accommodating, the greens were in great condition, and although the course kicked my beginner-golfer bottom, I had an amazing time! I definitely recommend this course to all golfers!
Great test of golf
This course will test all levels of golf shots. From the very straight to the target the must be hit. Great way to tune your game.
