Metamora Golf & Country Club
About
Metamora Golf & Country Club is a championship course located in the northern suburbs of Detroit. The parkland layout has a beautifully rolling terrain that provides dramatic elevation changes throughout. The course has a balance of excellent shot values and interesting challenges that will appeal to players of all skill levels. The greens can be especially tricky since they are fast, undulating, and often putt downhill. There are numerous bunkers lurking around the greens and water hazards come into play on nearly every hole, 16 to be exact. Proper club selection and accurate shot placement will be generously rewarded but the golf course is not overly punishing if you're a little off your game. The signature hole is the par-5 third, which requires an approach shot to an island green.

Course needs work
The course layout is great, but it is in a very bad shape:
The bunkers are being worked on, all of them. The greens have sand on them and can not putt on them. The cart path is almost not passable.
Sand everywhere
Course is very nice. Was not told when booking my tee time that half the bunkers were being redone, to the point that they were having you hit over the construction crew. Then there was the greens. Just covered in sand, to the point that you could see every step taken. The course is beautiful but that killed it for me. Will probably not go back
Worth the extra drive
Metamora Country Club is becoming a favorite of ours. The course is very well taken care of and is not easy. Definitely worth the travel time. We plan to play there again this season for sure.
Wow!!!
First time playing Metamora. Great course in great shape this early in the year. Looking forward to going back this season.
Needs work. Way too many divots unrepaired in fairway, etc.
Wasn't my first or last round at Metamora
Fun course to play on was in pretty good shape for the time of the year... Lost of work being done to fix it up for later in the season. Staff was very accommodating, very enjoyable round overall.
Great place to play
Great course. Well maintained. Fast, true greens. Pace of play was 3 hours. Was first off so had no one to slow us down. A course you will want to play often.
Easily in my top 5 courses
Everything was excellent, couldn't of asked for a better day to golf and the course was in prime condition. Never got slowed down or rushed by the pace of play. Greens are a little fast but everything was perfect.
Course conditions are due only to weather
The condition of the course had nothing to do with the attempts to maintain it. They have had a LOT of rain so there are many unplayable areas. They are well marked ( in case you don't see well). As a matter of fact, we only got through 13 holes as another downpour came through. They have done a great job keeping the course up under these conditions.
Great course
Played in extremely hot weather. Course was in excellent condition considering the lack of rain for many weeks. Tough course for our spouses. Some carries were long. Staff was very friendly. Tough for first timers as there are several blind shots.
Great course/slow round
Round ruined by group in front of us playing a 5hr. Round. Great conditions, but ranger could have moved them along.
Course is nice and challenging
Great staff,beautiful layout,challenge to all.golfers
love the course
Course in excellent condition. Unfortunately pace of play was very slow at 5 hours and 15 minutes, waiting on every hole. Still would play again and again, but hopefully at a faster pace.
Challenging test
This was a great course for the $23 I paid. Some pretty challenging undulation changes, and quick greens. I played from the tips and it was 7000 yards. Par 5's were fairly short, but the 4's and 3's were beastly. The only downsides were the bunkers needing work, and the pace of play was abismal. It took 4:55 to play 18. I was in a threesome, that was waiting on twosomes for at least four groups ahead. They should do a better job of pairing twosomes with eachother. Lastly, the starter was very friendly and easy to talk to. He's a retired teacher, and was very pleasant.
Great course to play
It was really great course and experience.
There are several repair places around greens, but the overall was in great shape especially green speed and rolling.
Metamora golf a challenging course
Nice golf course. But kind of far from me. But I recommend it.
Metamora
Slow getting off 1st tee box. Have seen the course in better shape in the past. Good value for the money thru golf now .
