Some of the green complexes are beautiful.
This course is being neglected. Some of the green complexes are great. It looks like it was designed by two different designers and some holes look "squeezed in". Dead trees, crab grass, bare spots, and lack of fairways denotes the rest. Course has great potential with just a modicum of care. We played for 17.00 so it was ok, but this course could easily demand more with some upkeep. Too much attention paid to clubhouse.
Great Pace of Play...
We finished in 3 hours.
The greens were very well kept and challenging.
The fairways need some work though.
Not a bad deal for $20.
Beautiful scenery and great staff
This is one of the nicest courses I have played on. The course was very well maintained and all of the staff was very friendly.
Decent
Im a 20 handi shooter and I've been to some nice courses in michigan. I went to cedar glen with my family this past Sunday and I would say its a pretty decent course. The greens are nice, but the fairways definitely needs some work. Good hazards and trees to make the course a little challenging. Pretty flat and I wish it was a little more hilly. All in all has a good experience though. It's definitely a 3.5/5.
Great course. Totally unexpected.
This is in a rural area. I expected a large farm turned into a golf course. Instead - I drove up to a beautiful clubhouse. The staff was super friendly. The course is very well maintained, and the greens are perfect.
Great course
the course was well maintained.Even after all the rain we had the course was in great shape.Would play there anytime
Course was in terrible shape. There were no refreshments being served either on the course or in the club house.
I would never go back regardless of the price. Poorly maintained. Staff was not courteous at all. I can't believe they don't serve food!! You expect someone to golf from 12:20 to 5:00 without eating anything?!?!
flooded but maintained
Course was flooded, but you could tell it was being maintained.
Never go there
The course was all torn up from standing water. Nothing was cut. Cart paths were awful. Not taken care of.
Short and forgetable
This is a short course, even from the tips. It doesn't drain well. After a ten minute rain storm, several greens had standing water and every depression, rut and pothole was filled with water.
This is a good place for beginners and walkers. Saw many of them on a Tuesday mid day. Women and teens must like it.
At a low price, I'd use it as a practice facility.
This course was nice
This course was well maintained and fun to play. There was a backlog at the 7th hole so they let us jump to the 10th hole so we didn't have to wait and then we finished up 7, 8, and 9 after. It worked out great for us.
A tale of 2 nines
Was wondering why I made a 30 minute drive to check this place out after 9 holes. Front nine is very basic and kinda strange honestly with a couple tee boxes exactly side by side. Short and not much to it. The back, however, was a much diff story. Longer, challenging and pretty, one of the nicer nines I've seen in a while kind of tight on the back so accuracy off the tee is key. I found the greens challenging on the back. The only criticism I have is the finishing hole is a letdown after the first eight. 20 bucks for 18 holes is a great value. More length wold make this course even better. Overall, nice little course for all skill levels.
Maintenance was poor
Super friendly staff, but the course was in terrible shape. Dandelions everywhere made it difficult to find my ball, even in the fairway. There were weeds growing in the bunkers and there were two holes cut into most greens (the second cup just covered with a cap instead of filled with a plug of putting surface)
very nice course
Pretty little course. Very nice staff. Always in decent condition.
Solid if not pristine
Course layout is confusing at times as there a couple of location where one tee box contains the starting point for two holes, although I realize they don't have much room to work with, as the course is surrounded by a subdivision. Many of the fairways have bare patches, which is disappointing. The course looks a bit easier than it plays, there are a few holes that demand good placement shots. Great staff.
Great time even in the fog
I wish I could have gotten a rain check because of the fog.
winter play very diff. with leaves off trees
Course in good shape after "Sandy" knocked a few trees down around the couse
a lot of potential to be a nice course
I totally understand that when playing in November you will run across courses that have aerated the greens (as was the case) but that doesn't mean that the greens shouldn't have been cut and rolled. Also - the grounds crew was working on a lot of downed trees from the wind storm but they are open for business and blowing the leaves AND all of the branches and sticks off the greens should be done for quality of play. Also the fairways on the back 9 were covered in leaves and we lost balls because we couldn't find them in the fairway.
We were the only ones on the course and it seemed like the guy who opened the clubhouse and took our money was waiting for us to arrive (that's great) but when we made the turn the clubhouse was locked up - no chance to use the restroom OR get anything to drink or snack on (which they still had out) when we made the turn.
2 of the greens had multiple (more than twenty) "puncture holes" in them around the cups that were the same size as the bottom of the flagstick - somebody did that on purpose - a shame.
Our one encounter with the guy in the clubhouse was good - he even told us that the course wasn't busy and we could keep playing more than 18 if we wanted.
I would like to play this course again in the spring or summer when it is cleared, greens cut and rolled and the clubhouse open.
nice course for the money
saved 54% on green fees through golfnow. friendly and weel worth the money. went later in the season so even got off before our scheduled tee time. had no problen taking in the voucher and was able to get on course quickly.
The course had some nice holes.
When my Husband and I went to the course to play, the Gentleman at the counter stated that we had to pay again to play. That they never get paid from this sight ,that your sight was only to make reservations. So we got charged twice to play. One hole was way to close to residence houses and when one of my shots got a bit to close to a yard, the owner sent his dog out to keep my from even looking for my ball. I will not go back to this course and I will not recommend it to any of my friends.
