About
Golden Hawk Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Casco Township, which is just south of Richmond. You won't find too many elevation changes throughout the course but you will encounter plenty of water. There are also 36 bunkers coming into play on 12 holes. The course isn't particularly long at 6,117 yards from the back tees, but the par 4s offers some good length and the ample room off the fairways gives the course a spacious feel. The fairways are generous and quite forgiving, but golfers will face tough approaches to the greens, which are often nestled into the woods or bordered by ponds. The slightly elevated, undulating putting surfaces require accuracy. Golden Hawk Golf Club is a fair test but it's player friendly enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

Good course but could be much better
I’ve always liked the layout of this course and its beauty but this is one course that I would not recommend playing unless you are booking the first or second tee time slots. This place consistently overbooks their tee times make for multiple groups getting backed up on the first tee box. Just when you think you are in the clear after the first three holes and the pace of play begins to actually move you hit the number 4 par 3 hole and it’s like you are in the first tee box again waiting to tee off.
This course could be one of those “Gems” if they would book their tee times 10 minutes apart. So again do not try to play this course unless you have one of the first two tee times early in the morning.
Wet
Mother Nature didn’t help in Spring in MI! Any course would have been wet after all the rain we got. Other than that, pace was quick and we played 18 in just over 4 hours 👍🏼

We could not play this course. No carts allowed on the course due to flooding. Did not play, looking to get a rain check if possible.

First timers make slow play
I think golfers should be asked how proficient they are before they are allowed to play. Also, they should be told to let people play through if they are slowing up all the golfers behind them.
The twosome in front of us were like they were playing golf in their sleep. Totally unaware of their surroundings and that there were people behind them.

Will still try and play this course again…
So I have played this course many times and in general I really like it. The condition of the course was not good as it had rained two days straight prior. As that is obviously not the course’s fault, I do not believe they don’t have enough rangers on the course to monitor the pace of play. The first 14 holes were fine but the last 5 holes the pace was completely unacceptable. I’ve played this course several times where the pace of play has caused people to seek a refund/rain check. I really feel the course could do better by spacing out the tee times and keeping people on pace. Not sure that I will ever go on weekends anymore. Think twice if you want to play 18 holes in 4-4 1/2 hours.

Course only had 9 holes open. Was told I would get a full refund since we didn’t want to play only 9 holes. Refund has not been given.
