About
Golden Hawk Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Casco Township, which is just south of Richmond. You won't find too many elevation changes throughout the course but you will encounter plenty of water. There are also 36 bunkers coming into play on 12 holes. The course isn't particularly long at 6,117 yards from the back tees, but the par 4s offers some good length and the ample room off the fairways gives the course a spacious feel. The fairways are generous and quite forgiving, but golfers will face tough approaches to the greens, which are often nestled into the woods or bordered by ponds. The slightly elevated, undulating putting surfaces require accuracy. Golden Hawk Golf Club is a fair test but it's player friendly enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

First timers make slow play
I think golfers should be asked how proficient they are before they are allowed to play. Also, they should be told to let people play through if they are slowing up all the golfers behind them.
The twosome in front of us were like they were playing golf in their sleep. Totally unaware of their surroundings and that there were people behind them.
Will still try and play this course again…
So I have played this course many times and in general I really like it. The condition of the course was not good as it had rained two days straight prior. As that is obviously not the course’s fault, I do not believe they don’t have enough rangers on the course to monitor the pace of play. The first 14 holes were fine but the last 5 holes the pace was completely unacceptable. I’ve played this course several times where the pace of play has caused people to seek a refund/rain check. I really feel the course could do better by spacing out the tee times and keeping people on pace. Not sure that I will ever go on weekends anymore. Think twice if you want to play 18 holes in 4-4 1/2 hours.

Money never refunded
Course only had 9 holes open. Was told I would get a full refund since we didn’t want to play only 9 holes. Refund has not been given.

I play the course on a regular basis, I find it somewhat challenging and always a good value.
Fall Golf - A Good Value for the Money
Fall golf is always tricky. From inclement weather to course changes (e.g. leaves and green aeration), there is a challenge awaiting on every hole. This is however a good time to practice as the different conditions force you to play different clubs for the same shot result. This is a nice layout and a good value for the money.

Slow Play Again
5 1/2 hours for a twosome to play 18 holes is ridiculous.

Another Fall Round
For the amount of play this course receives, it is in remarkable shape. Weather was typical Fall Michigan - overcast but mild. Greens were still true despite the precipitation received the night before. All in all, a good day of golf.
go get the hawk
It was a blistering 90 degree day. There was still a moderate amount of play. Surprisingly, 3 groups allowed me to play through - a novelty these days. Course was in very good conditions and the greens were consistent all the way around the course. Good time and great value for the money.
