About
Timber Trace Golf Club sprawls across the rolling countryside that surrounds Lake Wallaby in lower Michigan. The location seems rather remote, giving the course an isolated feel, but the round is well worth the trip. The layout is routed through tall pines and the fairways effortlessly flow across the gently rolling hills. The wooded terrain is one of the course's major draws. Golfers from as far as the metro Detroit area come to enjoy this scenic round. The layout has an interesting mix of holes that offer plenty of variety. There are some tricky spots but you won't come across any carries over wetlands or ponds. Golfers will face long and challenging back-to-back par 5s starting with the 15th. This duo has the potential to ruin your score.

Great Course, Worth the Drive to Pinckney!
One of my favorites in the Metro Detroit Area. Always in Excellent Shape. If you haven't played Timber Trace, You Need to Soon!

The course & golf now
Great course I love the round! I also loved the efficiency of my golf now representative my partner was terribly sick the morning of the round & could not play both the Rep of the course & golf now worked to refund me the price of my partners round it was accomplished by phone while I was on course! Amazing love my VIP golf now memberservices!

Good Layout
Nice course with a bit of an up north feel. Some construction going on creating one temporary green. Definitely worth playing especially at price we paid on GolfNow.

Good times
Course in good shape for early season. Limited parking due to construction (done by end of April) which impacts only 2 holes. Tough but fair and beautiful course.

Nice Course
Played early in the year and course was in nice shape for the 1st weekend in April. Some long rides between holes but not a problem that I could see. Anxious to play again when the weather is better and the course has had a chance to get more summer like conditions!

Timber Trace is a scenic course with nice elevation changes and little intrusion on the course by homes.
Choose your tees carefully, the doglegs may have you hitting through the fairways or not long enough to clear the hazards.
Course conditions are usually great ! Large teeing areas, nicely manicured large greens.
As with most daily-play courses in Michigan the sand traps are not groomed to the conditions we once expected.
If you hit a low ball, you will find about half of the greens protected by sand traps in front. You may be able to run your shot up on the edge of the green, but it might not be in the section of the green where the pin is located.
The sandy base of the course drains water rapidly, making it a great course to hit after a shower or storm and still have reasonably dry lies.
The course is always a test for me, and one I love to play.

I love the layout and this course is always in great shape! The staff has always been very nice. The cart ride out to the back nine is very original and always a great way to relieve stress during a round.

Although the fairways are just a bit on the rough side in some areas the course is in nice shape. Pin placements are a bit awkward on some holes, being on a severe slope or tight to the edge but still able to score well if you are below the stick. Thanks to pro shop for getting me off before my tee time and being the first off the box. Did catch ladies league on the turn but was allowed to go around and come back and play missed holes.Will come back again. Happy with an 81 not being familiar with the course.

One of my favorite courses
This course track has tons of character. Very fun to play. The fairways are nice & wide, but too far left or right & you'll pay the price. I have to play this track at least once a year.
Great course
Like playing a great course in northern Michigan.
Terrible pace of play
10:20ish tee time on a Saturday morning, 6 hours and 10 minutes later we completed our round. The pace of play was terrible. More interested in profit than guest experience. Cart girl we saw once the entire round. The sand trap sand was rocky and parking lot almost. For the price paid I would go elsewhere. A fun layout but poorly managed.
