Brae Burn Golf Club
About
Brae Burn Golf Club in Plymouth has a traditional layout with a landscape that ranges from gently rolling to wildly undulating. On most holes, elevated tees play to elevated greens. The large, undulating greens usually slope back to front. Golfers will encounter water on 15 holes and the fairways are lined with mature trees. The bunkering is sparse but strategically placed and there are also rough-enhanced moguls protecting the greens, a unique feature at Brae Burn. One tip if it is your first time on the golf course is to study the course diagram beforehand since there are many hidden ponds that come into play on the fairways and greensides. The course's most famous hole is the par-5 13th, nicknamed "The Monster" since it measures a devilish 666 yards. This tricky hole double doglegs to the left and then back towards the right.

Golf okay….everything else is awful
Golf course: Great value for its lay out and condition. Lots of hills compared to other courses in the area.
Customer service: Horrible. I walked in and got no welcome or acknowledgment that I was even human. Had to initiate why I was there before the guy spoke. He said 3 words the whole interaction and I really felt like I was a burden.
Then we were on #8 and decide to call in an order like it suggests all over the score card, and the response was “An order for what??” They had no idea why someone would call to place an order. I was then transferred to the “tavern” where I was told they only have hot dogs… Not much of a tavern if you only serve hot dogs. That’s a hot dog stand. 🙄
Lastly, our cart battery died and they weren’t sure what to do when we called for help. They did come out quickly, but no point were they apologetic or anything. They just told us why it happened and left. Same cheery guy that check me in didn’t even look at us even though he was clearly the manager or owner.
I’ve gone to this course 50+ times over the years and it was always welcoming and a good time. Something has changed greatly and every moment felt like we were a burden.
Great gem of a course for over 100 years.
Love playing this course because of the quiet and nature and challenging layout.
Always my go to course for improving my game.
Course needs some care.
The tee boxes were In bad shape. We will never go there on a Sunday again. And the pace of play was way too slow. There were no rangers out to keep the pace of play moving. The parking lot was full of potholes and needs repair. We were disappointed.
Home of the Monster and challenging old greens
Always go there for the greens being mostly true and the Monster Par 5, 666 yards from the tips! Good bang for the buck
Great value and good challenge
For early spring, the course was in excellent condition. Tess fairways and green all in good condition. Weather was not great so the course was not busy and our twosome finished in 3h 45min.
Course is challenging enough for mid-teen handicappers. Overall a good value
