Brentwood Golf Club & Banquet Center
About
Brentwood Golf & Banquet Center in White Lake is conveniently less than an hour from downtown Detroit. The 18-hole layout has two distinctly different designs. The front nine is a wooded trail design with homes lining the fairways while the back nine has a more open, classic Scottish-links layout with fewer trees. There are nearly 40 bunkers situated along the greens and fairways and a variety of marshes, wetlands, and ponds come into play on 13 holes. To make the golf course even more challenging, the strategically placed mounding provides a number of tricky uneven lies from all angles and on nearly every hole. Brentwood's par-5 16th is a particularly memorable hole, featuring a grass hill that is directly in front of the green, almost completely blocking the view of the putting surface on the approach.

Beautiful course
This is a must-play. This course is always taken care of very well, and it is a beautiful layout weaving through the neighborhood. It can get pretty busy, so try to avoid playing if you're in a big hurry. There are some tough holes, with doglegs, trees, bunkers, and water. Greens roll true and are normally groomed perfectly. It's always a very enjoyable experience.
short course. lots of backyards to look at all day. plays slow.
Fun challenge
My wife and I played here for the first time4/18/17 and found the course to be in great shape for spring conditions. The layout was great and provided many senic views. We will come back and bring other golfers.
This course is in nice shape
Nice course, some pretty short holes but dog legs make it interesting
1st time playing
Front 9 kind of target golf, back 9 totally different than front 9. Enjoyed back 9 much more than front 9. Greens were in great shape and very undulating. Pace of play was awesome due to early tee time but could see how it could be slow with front having some short par 4's. Leave longer clubs in the bag for most of the front side, grip and rip on back.
Love this course!
Fun course! I always enjoy playing here! The course is always well maintained.
Brentwood
Brentwood is well kept up and pace of play was excellent. The only critique is that the yardages as marked on the course and scorecard seemed over valued. When comparing to GPS distances, the yardages were off. Despite that I would return again.
Nice staff
This course is extremely short, but nice greens! The staff was a little short with me. But overall a good course!
Could not be better
The course was in great condition. Bunkers raked, greens smooth, fairways mowed. Greens are challenging but can be putted with some effort. Lunch was great in the Grill.
Great Course
First time at the course. It was in good condition and the pace of play was great. Would definitely recommend and will be going back to play again
A Hidden Gem!
I've played quite a few courses in southeastern Michigan and this course is definitely in my top 10! Beautiful layout and very nice greens and fairways!
Brentwood Course
Greens, tee's and fairways are in great shape The cart paths need replacing badly. The course is short but fun to play.
Great value. Diverse layout
I wondered about a "subdivision" course and that I would be playing down a row of houses but it was not. Rather pretty with woods, hills, etc. Even with hills, if the shot placement was correct -- the landing areas were level. I'll be back
First Time
First time playing. The course was fine and we played on Memorial Day. The fairways had not been cut for a couple days but were playable. Also we had a foursome and the course put out 2 somes behind us versus pairing them up as more foursomes. It was fine other than that.
Slow Greens
I realize now that tee times offered to golfnow at many of the courses tend to follow Leagues. Lots of times it is a Women's league. 1st 3 holes ,15 minutes, Next 6, 1hr 30 minutes. Not really bad if you're a group but I was playing as a single.
Course is in good shape other than the front side greens were pretty shaggy. Wide open back side. Would I play here again? Drive is out my way so probably not. Would recommend to people who live in the area.
Great value
This was the second time I've played this course. I really enjoy it. The course is in good condition. The value is outstanding. But, this course is not one that you can just rip the driver on every hole. It is a thinking mans course. Position play is far more important. Expect to his woods and irons off the tees most times. Personally I love this style of golf. It is not one dimensional.
The golf course
The course was actually in really good shape considering the weather we've been having, the greens were a little on the long side but it's still early. Staff in the pro shop was friendly. The course wasn't crowded and pace of play was good. Fairways were in great shape. I would recommend this course to my friends. Will be playing again, soon.
Great course
Went here on April 19th and the course was in pretty good shape for it being so early in the season. The course layout was great, it's different, going through a neighborhood. The clubhouse looked beautiful and looks like a great place for events. I would recommend this course 10/10
Brentwood
So I book a 9:20am Golf Now, as a single, figuring I'd team up with a group. I get there early and the pro shop guy sends me out as a single, telling me there is a group that just teed off, give them about 10 minutes, and I'm good to go. Great I think, maybe hit a few extra shots and get some practice in. What he fails to tell me is that I'm following a ladies senior league, three groups that I have little chance of playing through. I could have hit every ball in my bag and I still would have caught them on the next hole. 3 hours later! (as a single)I get to the "cover shot" 9th hole and I see three ladies fishing for balls in the lake that surrounds the green. I skip to 10 because there is a twosome behind me that didn't seem to want to join up. I finish up in time for dinner. Any good starter/pro shop guy worth his weight in jar balls is NOT going to send a single out behind a senior ladies league. Hello! why don't you start on 10. Or at least, pack your patience pal, and I hope you brought some rations. You're in for a long afternoon.
Nice course, good conditions, plenty of other courses closer to home.
