Brentwood Golf Club & Banquet Center
About
Brentwood Golf & Banquet Center in White Lake is conveniently less than an hour from downtown Detroit. The 18-hole layout has two distinctly different designs. The front nine is a wooded trail design with homes lining the fairways while the back nine has a more open, classic Scottish-links layout with fewer trees. There are nearly 40 bunkers situated along the greens and fairways and a variety of marshes, wetlands, and ponds come into play on 13 holes. To make the golf course even more challenging, the strategically placed mounding provides a number of tricky uneven lies from all angles and on nearly every hole. Brentwood's par-5 16th is a particularly memorable hole, featuring a grass hill that is directly in front of the green, almost completely blocking the view of the putting surface on the approach.

Great course
Went here on April 19th and the course was in pretty good shape for it being so early in the season. The course layout was great, it's different, going through a neighborhood. The clubhouse looked beautiful and looks like a great place for events. I would recommend this course 10/10
Brentwood
So I book a 9:20am Golf Now, as a single, figuring I'd team up with a group. I get there early and the pro shop guy sends me out as a single, telling me there is a group that just teed off, give them about 10 minutes, and I'm good to go. Great I think, maybe hit a few extra shots and get some practice in. What he fails to tell me is that I'm following a ladies senior league, three groups that I have little chance of playing through. I could have hit every ball in my bag and I still would have caught them on the next hole. 3 hours later! (as a single)I get to the "cover shot" 9th hole and I see three ladies fishing for balls in the lake that surrounds the green. I skip to 10 because there is a twosome behind me that didn't seem to want to join up. I finish up in time for dinner. Any good starter/pro shop guy worth his weight in jar balls is NOT going to send a single out behind a senior ladies league. Hello! why don't you start on 10. Or at least, pack your patience pal, and I hope you brought some rations. You're in for a long afternoon.
Nice course, good conditions, plenty of other courses closer to home.
good course, .
Traps need sand, little thin. Tree Box seeding
Otherwise good
Two different Nines.
The front nine holes is very tight, yet the back nine is wide open. The greens were in excellent shape , hard to read them though.
Scenic Course in metro Detroit
Good layout and scenery makes this White Lake course feel like Northern Michigan.
Looks like they have done a lot of work
Played 2 other times just after it was bought by new owners and it looks like they have put a lot of time and money into improving and maintaing it, very nice and a good challenging course
Good Round but a bit slow
The round was very good. The back nine was a bit slow but overall the round was good.
All around good place
coarse is in great shape very good time golfing on a wednesday morning
Great shape
The course was in great shape. The only complaint I have is the tees were all positioned forward, so the course played very short.
Great value!
This is a good track, pretty open, so you shouldn't lose many balls. The course was very well maintained, staff was helpful and friendly. Just don't hit from anyone's yard, or you will probably hear about it.
Good course & small greens
Some blind tee shots and kind of narrow with small greens on the front 9. The back 9 opens up a bit. Not long. Some undulating greens. Kept in good conditions with friendly staff.
Great Value
For a public course, this is a very good value. Well kept up grass, greens in very good shape. Most holes are fairly wide open. Some narrow and challenging holes thrown in as well. Good course for high and low handicappers.
Markers
Enjoyed the course for the most part-however it would be nice to have some added informaton from the tees--Even the First hole -My 10th-did not know how far to the water-I was wet.
Other holes as they were blind would be good to know the distance to trouble
Greens in excellent shape.
One of the Par 5's could be trouble for a newbie--wind up in back yard if too long-Fairs what I saw of them good shape.
Brentwood Golf club
Excellent facility that winds thru residential properties. Houses are not intrusive to golf course and add to overall scenic vistas on the course. Definitely will replay this course.
middle of the road course
For as residential a course as this is, it features some interesting holes. The two par fives on the front play much longer because you can't hit driver. Lots of blind tee shots, sloping fairways and uphill shots. The downside is that the views are almost all back yards and there are some awkward tee and green placements. For instance as you tee off on 11, right handers have a plain view of the 10th green and all that's going on there.
2 differnt style nines
Front 9 somewhat tight & wooded trail course, while back 9 open links style. Not too long, and think before hitting driver on 4's and 5's. A couple of tees have some very tight openings to get through if you cannot shape a shot both ways. Greens quick, but course in great shape.
Really nice course with really nice people!
I loved Brentwood. The customer service is amazing. The course is really hilly and a lot of fun. I took my son for his birthday and we had the best time.
Play this course
Course is in great shape. First time here this year. bunkers greens and fairways all excellent. many challenging putts and chip shots due to pin locations on undulating greens. This course is truly a great value. several links type holes a on a long back nine. Watch the water on your second shot at number 16. its hidden and everything funnels toward it.
Nice course, horrible service
Course was in good shap and played well. Big thumbs up to all the grounds crew. The people that work the club house and bar not so much. Pace of play was extremely slow for a short course. A two some in front of my group gave up after 13 because it was sooo slow. Asked for a hot dog and six pack at the turn and literally no one could figure it out. After 20 minutes of three different people pointing at one another I left empty handed. Next time I ll just bring my own in my bag, like I did in college!
Course condition
The course was well maintained. I liked the hole lengths.
