Brentwood Golf Club & Banquet Center
About
Brentwood Golf & Banquet Center in White Lake is conveniently less than an hour from downtown Detroit. The 18-hole layout has two distinctly different designs. The front nine is a wooded trail design with homes lining the fairways while the back nine has a more open, classic Scottish-links layout with fewer trees. There are nearly 40 bunkers situated along the greens and fairways and a variety of marshes, wetlands, and ponds come into play on 13 holes. To make the golf course even more challenging, the strategically placed mounding provides a number of tricky uneven lies from all angles and on nearly every hole. Brentwood's par-5 16th is a particularly memorable hole, featuring a grass hill that is directly in front of the green, almost completely blocking the view of the putting surface on the approach.

Challenging without being too tough
Like the layout. Some holes make you step up your game. A very nice array of different holes ranging from easy to tough, but not to the point of discouragement like some courses. Good mix of type holes.
Nice course
This course is within the subdivision houses are around the fairways. I am not very interested to play when are families around the fairways.
course in good shape but greens did need to be mowed
a fun course a little shaggy on the greens but we have had a lot of rain
Great value
If you want to hit driver, and are 12 and below handicap play the tips. Course is maintained well, and staff is freindly.
Well Maintained, Pretty Scenery, Nice Staff, Great Variety of Fairways
I have no complaints about this facility. We compete in an annual outing that has been hosted here for 18 years. The staff are super nice and they set the tone for a really fun day out on the course. Even on my worst days (which seem to be many when it comes to my scores!) I have a wonderful time.
The greens can be somewhat inconsistent in the earlier part of the season due to fertilizer and sand added to the surface. Texture isn't consistent between greens making some fast, some slow and some a wee bit bumpy. If people would take a moment to repair their ball marks on any course, greens would be in better condition. And for goodness sakes - take the ball out of the cup with your hand, not your putter! The edges suffer from lazy and careless golfers including when the pins are being slid back into the cup and they hit the edge of the grass around the cup and damage the edge. Argh. <end of rant>
Brentwood is an excellent course anyone of any skill would enjoy.
Well maintained short course
This is a great little course that will challenge your putting. Relaxed park-like course that has 12 treelined holes and 6 sprawling holes. All of the greens are small and undulating, but ironically not a single put broke as much as it looked like it would. many didn't break at all. Character. Biggest downfall of this course is, it's a driver/wedge course. I would imagine this being excellent for Seniors who hit it straight but not long.
This course is in good shape and it requires accurate shots to the greens. The greens are small, ungulating, and quick. The fairways are narrow.
This course is always enjoyable to play. There are four sets of tees and the tee shots require accuracy. Your shots to the greens need to be on and your putting better be good. The greens are fast going downhill and slow going uphill. The par 3 ninth hole is short, but all over water right in front of the clubhouse. The front side is laid out by the housing community, while the back nine is more out in the open.
challenges at a reasonable price
When the new owners took over 3 years ago, lots of attention was needed. They are constantly upgrading. They also have a voucher program - pay for 4 rounds, get one round free. Also, if you play this course regularly, you will never need to buy another golf ball.
Their driving range = new last year - is basically a wooded swamp, but hey, you can hit.
