Eagle Crest Golf Club

I usually play Eagle Crest a few times a year. Well, I used to. It's highly unlikely I'll play it again this year. They've jacked the prices up way to high. I don't care how good the course is. Or how nice the amenities are. Or how friendly the staff is. All of those have always been a given, and that hasn't changed. But $85 for a round of golf is too much to play it regularly. Three rounds at Eagle Crest equates to five at Washtenaw CC or six at Pierce Lake, which are just as nice in many ways and are in Washtenaw county.

I know the cost of fuel is up. But the jump from last year to this year to play is ridiculous. Especially since the one thing the course lacks is a ranger. They apparently count on the cart GPS system to keep you on track. It doesn't help, because bad golfers don't care, and 5 1/2 hours is nuts for 18 holes on a weekend. Or any other day, frankly.

I can't complain about the tees, greens or fairways. They were great. The bunkers are usually stellar, but the greenside one on 14 was awful. That was a shock. Thankfully I avoided any others.

The first cut of rough was more like a second cut, three to four inches thick. I lost two balls that were less than five yards off the fairway because of how deep it was. The US Open has spotters to flag balls in the rough. A GPS system doesn't help with that. I've never seen it that high there before. I want to think it was an anomaly.

They also have a disaster in front of the 12th tee. Not sure what they're doing. Repairs? Redesign? But it was a surprise how it looked. I give that a pass though, because the really do a great job elsewhere. If they cut the rough and drop the price to around $60, I'd go back. Otherwise, the two I mentioned, Lake Forest or Leslie Park are other viable options I can play far more often.

The pace of play of this course was embarrasing. We had to wait 15 minutes on every hole. Tried to get somebody out there to speed play up but never saw anybody and pace remained the same through the remainder of the round. the course costs too much to play to have to play that slow. you expect to get what you pay for and we did not get that here. Other then that course was in great shape.

Love this course, we'll maintained and very friendly staff. Course is challenging but you can score if you position yourself well. Overall the staff could be one of the most pleasant I have ever interacted with. From the guys who check your bags to the starter and wait staff. All of them are just so friendly. Look forward to my my next round here.

This course is positioned on Ford Lake and has stunning views from the clubhouse and many of the holes. They have new and modern facilities. There are elevation changes and water hazards on many holes. The greens had been dressed on the day we played so I really can't speak to their usual condition. The fairways and tee boxes were in good condition. The staff were courteous and helpful.

Very scenic course with challenging layout.

Played a round of 9 in the evening but will definitely be coming back to play more.

Also noticed the driving range and practice greens were great as well.

My husband is on a league @ Eagle Crest. It was my 1st time playing there. I felt like I was playing a course in Northern Mi. I loved the “Hot Deal” I got thru GolfNow.⛳️ We will be back!!

Can’t say anything negative. Great greens, challenging holes and some with reward for risk. Perfect world this course would be just a little less pricey, but still one of the best options in area.
