Fun course with many blind shots
I played the course on a Tuesday at 3:00 pm. Played as a single and was done in 2 hrs 45 min. The were very slow and you had to hit the ball fairly hard to get it to the hole. The is not water on the course for drinking. You have to make you have plenty in your bag. The course is a little short even from the tips but still challenging. Having a Garmin is helpful.
I am from out of the state but will play here again when come back through here.
Need ranger & green grooming
Greens were not groomed, made putting impossible . Slow players on the fairways and greens needed a ranger to help speed their play.. No water available to drink.
Decent course
The course is in good shape with nice greens. The fairways are well maintained with the rough kept at a good length. The layout could be more challenging. Most holes are straight ahead with minimal bends in them. Having 3 or 4 dogleg holes would help. My only complaint from being out of town and calling ahead was with the club rentals. Bring your own clubs otherwise come prepared to pay $20 (yes $20!) for a mix bag of dirty, sub-standard clubs. The course should be ashamed of itself for charging a fee for a mixed bag of found clubs. None of which matched. Tsk! Tsk!
Good value
Nice mixture of difficult to easy holes. Greens were in excellent shape.
Nice course
I like this course. Many short par 5s give you a chance at birdie (or if you're good an eagle). Rolling meadow fairways with light tree coverage on most of the course lets you hit driver without worrying about losing multiple sleeves of balls. Fun round if my allergies would've cooperated.
challenging and fun
Very hilly, don't try to walk, bring bug spray, and an adventurous spirit.
Well worth our 60 mile drive.
Good Day
This course is a fun place to play. Challenging yet fair. Front nine a bit easier than the back nine but both challenging.
I would recommend this to all golfers from new to advanced.
Gnat attack
The course is very nice, but buggy due to all the wetlands. Fortunately, they sold some great natural gnat repellent in the clubhouse. I'd definitely return.
Good course
This course was overall a good course that I will recommend to others...as long as you pack bug spray!
Beware!
If you have never played the course before you will be surprised after hitting some of your shots. Cannot see flag on most holes.
Almost every hole has one blind shot or more. The signage on the course is not very good. Should have a sign on a couple of tees that tells you how far to the water or over the water. No signs to tell where the next hole is on some either. Bring lots of bug spray. Luckily it was a bit windy so the bugs were held a bay.
My turn at creeksbend
I enjoyed the course, even with all the rain we've had in the last few days. Will play it again when it's dry.
Guessing Game
Even tougher than playing in 20-30 + mph winds, were the number of blind shots you are forced to play from both the tee box and the fairway. Hole diagrams can only show you so much and they aren't terribly accurate to begin with, so whenever possible, try to drive out ahead and see what you're getting into and maybe pick out something to aim at.
Unfortunately, all of these blind shots have an effect on the pace of play. Even well-struck balls can prove to be elusive when you don't get to see them land. So, if you're not striping every fairway, be prepared to log some extra time in the cart hunting for your balls.
Despite taking on a few inches of rain the night before we played, the course was in surprisingly good shape. The greens were in good condition as were the fairways - with the exception of a few low-lying spots.
Now that I know what to expect from this course, I look forward to returning for another round. Hopefully the weather will be a little more cooperative!
Good Course,
Played before and was in great shape. This time fairways/rough had just been mowed and had large amounts of grass left on them. We lost a couple balls in the long mowed grass. Should have attached a grass catcher when mowed. Also greens were very hairy/slow. Both these conditions were unusual for this course, probably was just bad timing. Usually a very enjoyable Goldstrand course to play!
U SHOULD GO THERE AND U WON'T REGRET..
perfect average size course but green and fairway are in absolute condition especially greens are perfect... it is average 6200 yard course, not a giant course but little bit of hilly too which challenge ur shots.. u can't beat the price and driving is just about 30 minutes from metro area.. just go there and have fun in quite scenery of rural atmosphere...
Course is short but you must play your tee shots strategically
Pace of play was horrible for a Friday afternoon. Tee times are too close together. Constantly waited at least 5-8 minutes on every tee box.
Always a good day
Course was in great shape, except tee boxes were a bit rough and hard, bring plenty of tees. We always have fun playing this course.
5/18/14
The course played fairly well. There were a few holes that had large dirt mounds at tee boxes.
The tee boxes needed to be watered as they were extremely hard. Course pro bought us a drink after the round. A fun place to play for the money.
You shouldn't be commenting if you are renting clubs. Not a hot spot for the traveling elite.
