Guessing Game
Even tougher than playing in 20-30 + mph winds, were the number of blind shots you are forced to play from both the tee box and the fairway. Hole diagrams can only show you so much and they aren't terribly accurate to begin with, so whenever possible, try to drive out ahead and see what you're getting into and maybe pick out something to aim at.
Unfortunately, all of these blind shots have an effect on the pace of play. Even well-struck balls can prove to be elusive when you don't get to see them land. So, if you're not striping every fairway, be prepared to log some extra time in the cart hunting for your balls.
Despite taking on a few inches of rain the night before we played, the course was in surprisingly good shape. The greens were in good condition as were the fairways - with the exception of a few low-lying spots.
Now that I know what to expect from this course, I look forward to returning for another round. Hopefully the weather will be a little more cooperative!
Good Course,
Played before and was in great shape. This time fairways/rough had just been mowed and had large amounts of grass left on them. We lost a couple balls in the long mowed grass. Should have attached a grass catcher when mowed. Also greens were very hairy/slow. Both these conditions were unusual for this course, probably was just bad timing. Usually a very enjoyable Goldstrand course to play!
U SHOULD GO THERE AND U WON'T REGRET..
perfect average size course but green and fairway are in absolute condition especially greens are perfect... it is average 6200 yard course, not a giant course but little bit of hilly too which challenge ur shots.. u can't beat the price and driving is just about 30 minutes from metro area.. just go there and have fun in quite scenery of rural atmosphere...
Course is short but you must play your tee shots strategically
Pace of play was horrible for a Friday afternoon. Tee times are too close together. Constantly waited at least 5-8 minutes on every tee box.
Always a good day
Course was in great shape, except tee boxes were a bit rough and hard, bring plenty of tees. We always have fun playing this course.
5/18/14
The course played fairly well. There were a few holes that had large dirt mounds at tee boxes.
The tee boxes needed to be watered as they were extremely hard. Course pro bought us a drink after the round. A fun place to play for the money.
Solid Course
I've played Creeksbend a few times now and its always been in above average / good shape. Already this year the greens are back.
The course overall is put together well and the track flows without having to always play next to an adjacent fairway. Moderately challenging rating because of the fairway hazards and creek flowing through a few holes however the yardage is very manageable. A few of my favorite challenges on this course include multiple blind shots, take a peek at these greens before shooting.
Another quick note, I played this course once before with a player who had GPS and we found a lot of distances marked on the course were incorrect, a few instances it was obvious temporary turf repair/construction caused these differences, however others where that was not the case.
Its a popular course, I usually play alone however I've been paired up before and seen this course very busy.
Is Spring finally here?
Being very familiar with Creeks Bend, I looked forward to my 2nd round of the year and was pleased with the conditions of the course. No, it wasn't perfect but being Spring and with the amount of rain we've had; the course is in pretty good condition. As is common for this course in the spring, the driving range was closed which I really need this early. Wish they would do something about that. Some wet spots on the course but they are always working to improve things and I appreciate that.
This is a course that you really need guidance to get around but after one or two rounds it can be a fun and well kept course.
You will like Creeksbend.
A nice coarse not to far from Twin Cities. Well maintained especially for early season. The coarse has some trouble but not too much. This coarse is average difficulty and fun to play!
fairways and greens are decent
Course is in great shape for so early in season. Play was slow due to a group playing way too slow in front of us
fun course to play
I've played this course several times this year and always have fun. It's challenging bug also fair for the average golfer. Course is always well maintained and staff is very friendly. It's also very close to home so easy to go on last minute
Great value from Golf Now on this course.
Some challenges but friendly to me
You can get into trouble in places, but generally a forgiving course in good condition and challenging to the mid-level golfer. This year I've been shooting in the mid 90s but on this course I've been shooting in high 80s.
This course is well maintained. Especially, green
It was great to paly golf at this great course and with the very attractive price. I was happy to play golf by myself while I am on a business trip. This booking system is very beneficial to play golf without booking in advance. I really enjoyed playing.
grteat golfing for the buck
i like the course.the rest of the guys it played very well
I guess i just expected better?!?
First off and most importantly I must say I feel for what I paid from Golfnow I felt I got a great value for this alleged top notch course. We get checked in and to there defense they must have had a tournament, but every cart had lots of garbage in them.
On to golf. Lots of blind shots make it difficult for the Ave Joe. Greens must have been aerated earlier in the week so I can't comment on them. After a 2 3/4+ hour 9 holes we thought we could possibly get the back done in <2 hrs. (A 2some ahead of us quit after 4 holes). Another 5some that would not let us thru. We never got all 18 in. Enough said..
A couple of odd holes 2,12,14 are unique to say the least.
It unfortunately for them is one course that I will not say " We Gotta Go Back."
Maintence needed
I have played this course several times in the past 3 years and the course condition right now is below average. Lots of dormant brown grass and bare ground areas. All water coolers have been removed. White tee box areas are in poor condition and need cleaning up of broken tees. Staff is not paring players
and most seem to be playing as singles.
Enjoyable and interesting experience.
I played the course previously in the spring when they moisture levels were much higher. Playing in September with excellent maintenance conditions provided an excellent variety of holes including the very unusual signature par five hole split by a grove of trees. Friendly staff, well-maintained and an interesting challenge for players of all skill levels.
Pretty Fun
The only complaint I had is that the grill is not open during week days ? Couldn't get food.
Also, some of the tee boxes were so far into the woods the mosquitos were terrible and it was hard to concentrate on a swing.
