Sun Valley Golf Course

It had been a while since we’ve played Sun Valley but wow! This course is in excellent shape- from tees to fairways to greens- no complaints! We need to book again soon- such a beautiful course!

I played the course after it first opened. It has improved 100% since then. Beautiful course. Fairways and greens were perfect. Fun to play. I would definitely recommend this course.

Staff is garbage. Course is garbage. Greens are terrible and look like an 8 year old cut them. Pro shop also garbage.

Dont go here. Its sad because Bear Creek is nice which is crazy considering its the same owner.

Big storm on Saturday, so I figured it would be cart path only. But we got there at 7:20 or so after driving for an hour and the guy at the counter, who is always very nice, said it was cart path only and we would have to play front 9 twice. Well...not only did that rub us the wrong way, it was pretty cold and windy. This came in to play at the turn when small surprise, they were still had people coming in for tee times. We already had a slow 9 because the foursome in front of us did not know how to deal with the whole cart path only thing, but after number 9, there were 3 groups on the number one tee. Needless to say, with the weather and the slow play, we were done. They did give us a rain check, but we drove an awfully long way to play 9 holes.

Sun Valley Golf Course is a beautiful Course with a tremendous amount of elevation change which lends to great golf and stunning views of the Missouri hills.

Tee boxes in good shape, greens were picture perfect. Only slight issue was pace of play, mainly caused by golfers unable to locate their ball at the sides of the fairways due to excessive tree leaves covering the ground. Even fluorescent golf balls couldn't be found under masses of leaves. I know you can't control nature, but maybe mow/vacuum the edges before play starts for the day? Not a knock against the course, it was beautiful. Just an unfortunate effect of the season. Will play here again.

We have played this course many times. Saturday we got there and checked in and got a cart. The roof of the cart was filled with water which leaked all over our bags and us for 3 holes until we pulled over and spent several minutes trying to get it to drain. Eventually we took a golf tee and plugged the hole to stop our bags from getting drenched. Our front nine was great. Played at our pace with no waiting or anyone behind us. When we pulled up to 10 that all changed. In front of us was a group of 4 on the green, a group of 4 in the fairway and a group of 6 playing together on the tee box and another group of 2 waiting to tee off as well. Due to this we got a rain check and left. The back nine would have taken several hours to play with this back up. So my complaint is why the course would allow a group of six the be playing together when the course was that full on the back nine. We have always been happy with the course as my rating above shows. But it is a 45 minute drive for us and to only get to play nine and leave was very disappointing. The only person working was in the club house so there was no one on the course to prevent what happened. Just disappointed that our likely last round of the year was cut in half due to poor management for the day.

The course is pretty open which is an obvious plus but definitely challenging. The fairways are in great shape considering it’s October and the greens were great as well. I highly recommend this course as the views are absolutely amazing.

One of the most scenic courses in the State and am looking to playing again with less wind.

Unfortunately, I had an accident on the way to the course and was not able to play. I was supposed to meet a friend who was coming from a different city. He was able to play as a single. I was not able to cancel with the course to receive a credit.

Clubhouse staff was friendly and helpful. Course was dry but greens were fantastic, especially for mid October. Great views from several spots. Worth the drive and will definitely come back.

Really neat lay out to this hidden gem. Course is in nice shape.
