Sugar Creek Golf Course

The tee box grass was like hitting out of the rough! The grass on the greens was long and furry on most holes. The fairways were in subpar condition as well. It was barely worth the $12 I spent to play there!

Love the change in elevation on the course! Lost a few golf balls with some narrow fairways but had fun!

Make sure you get a discount, as this is an average golf course. Also this course has a lot of doglegs and blind shots that requires local knowledge where to target your shots on several holes.

It took 6 hrs and 15 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. We teed off at 130 pm. I will never play this course again. The layout is a disaster. On #1 from the blue tees is the dumbest shot ever to start a round. They also have a par 3 plays about 170 from the blue tees, but you have to club down 3 clubs because it is severely uphill (35 yards up hill at least). I have never played such a terrible lay out in my life.

This was a fun and challenging course to play it had a lot of blind shots which made it challenging and had a cool setup I definitely think I will play here again sometime.

The conditions were well below standards. Fairways were in bad shape and the rough was very overgrown. Weeds in the fairways and very poor greens. The value was good, but the savings didn't warrant spending an afternoon of our time.

Weeds everywhere, mole trails on greens and bare areas. Tees in poor condition and over grown. $34.. Your kidding me, right? Overall poor service, no water on course and beverage carts are minimal.

Bad greens, tees and service. Carts break down consistently.. Poor management.. Maintenance workers drive around the course without respect for golfers. Also, the greens mowed and cups changed about once a week. No consideration to collars or bunkers.. That's why it's known as, "Sugar Ditch"....

I had read reviews before I went so I knew that new management had taken over recently and were supposedly doing work to the course but even with all the work it still was a decent course. It still has a ways to go but they are clearly doing what needs to be done. The greens were in great condition. The course is pretty hilly but when the work gets done it looks to be a beautiful course

Love the course layout but this course is in real bad shape. Tee boxes and fairways are horrible as are most greens.

People were nice but the course was in the worst condition I have ever seen a golf course in! costs should be less then $20 as its a really tough course to enjoy with the shapes its in. Plus there is trash littered all over the place and it dosnt look like the course has been cleaned up for years. You will find empty shot-gunned beers in the woods on about half the tee boxes. Pretty bad.

The course, while interesting in its layout, was in really bad shape. The tee boxes were barren, the fairways were mostly weedpatches. The greens were heavily sanded and aerated, so not fantastic, but they should be pretty good when the weather gets better. But, all in all, this course was in rough shape. And the pace of play the day we went was painfully slow - one of the slowest rounds I have ever play in St. Louis.

i don`t think this coarse should charge anyone to play i think they should pay golfers to come there very very dissatified

Only the T side monuments are in great shape. The cart paths are crumbling. Fairways are a mixture of weed, bare spots and grass. Bunkers are Missouri compacted mud and sand. T boxes are mostly weed. It had been some years since I played here and was hoping for improvements. Maybe next decade

I had just begun to play golf a little over 2 years ago and have found this course a good deal being cheap and readily available.
I have been to this course several times in the past 2 years and it has been in much better shape off and on.
However on 4/14/13 the greens and fairways were extremely dry and bare. The course was going thru some maintenance work and aeration of the greens, making putting difficult.
The staff are always friendly and helpfull whether on the course or in the clubhouse.

It's hard to identify the difference between the fairway and rough. They are in the process of repairing holes 1-4 which involved re-sodding almost the entire fairway. Houses sit right on top of this course, so generally OB with very little room to the right and creeks to the left and surrounding greens. I wouldn't play again.

I was one of the first groups out so played through 1 group and then had free reign; was able to play in 2.5 hours so made it bearable.

The course reflects years of neglect. Grass was either not present or unkempt. Gravel and rocks in the fairway, cart paths broken and crumbled beyond repair. The community lawns were in better condition than the tee boxes. We paid a super-low price and were still very disappointed. The course could be really nice if they invest some time, money and TLC.

Course needs some major work. Paths,fairways etc..Greens in good condition.
