Sugar Creek Golf Course
About
Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

this course is much improved since i last played there greens still nworkeed much
this course is much improved since i last played there greens still need much work
Terrible
Course is in extremely poor shape. The greens have sand patches all over them and some were just re sodded. The re sodded ones still had a half inch gap in between the pices and where very wavy. Some of the white tee boxes were joind with there blue/black due to the white tee boxes under construction. I will never go back to this course!!!!
Course is a mess
Weeds ever where, Tee boxes are dirt, fairways look like they haven't ever been cared for. Pretty much the worse course i have ever played. I will never return because the website makes it look amazing and it is a mess. Please buy a bag of weed and feed... seriously 30 dollars wouldn't pay more than 5!
Better than sitting home or going Christmas Shopping in large crowds
This course is set upon a piece of ground in the MO Ozarks hills and ravines that is more suitable to raising wild pigs than playing golf upon. It is a collection of unplayable lies and ridiculous pin locations on bumpy greens badly in need of mowing. I may be being a bit harsh with this description, there may be 6 or 7 halfway decent golf holes on the course, but they are not memorable. The green fees are very affordable.
course has been neglected for a decade! front nine is very poor design.
With a golfnow hot deal price, this place is fun. If I paid full price, I would be very disssappoonted.
This course has great features.
Thank you for listening to me golf now is great you always give me very good service. And I appreciate that I will continue to use your service.
But the course is the worst I ever played and probably will never go back. They had 2 somes that jumped in front us and then we had to wait. No marshal on the course to control the players. The greens were so bad you could not putt at all. I'm sorry to complain..Another hole some people to play ahead of us and we allowed them to do so and then we had to wait again. Not good.
Excellent course to fine tune your game.
My nephew and I went out for a relaxing afternoon and came away with a great experience.
this course was fun for the price
Some of the greens need some work and the cart paths too. The carts are new and nice but need to be faster they are very very slow.
course conditions improved
Some greens still need major work - fairways generally good - tee boxes better - fivesomes allowed which slows play - renovations being done in clubhouse - course has new owner who seems to be willing spend money for needed improvements
Love the layout
I love the layout of this course. Hole # 10 is strange. The swamp is large and if you go in, the snakes probably ate it. The course is under renovation so I`ll give it a pass, however, it always seems to be under renovation. It`s been years since the course was in decent shape. I booked on Golf Now and for $12.00 for 18 with a cart, was well worth a day out.
Fun, challenging course to play, but needs improvement with better maintenance
The course will challenge you with lots of odd tee shots and approaches. Makes for a fun round. The course needs quite a bit of maintenance, particularly on the greens, tee boxes, and cart paths. Fairways are in pretty good shape. Staff was friendly. Course could be a pretty good with additional work.
Buyer Beware
The course is currently under new management thus the hot deal price I recieved. The front nine was closed which we did not find out until arriving at the course. So I expected the nine back nine holes that we would be playing twice would be in prestine shape but they were not. The 18th hole in faact had a small prolly 2-3 foot in diameter sand area right in front the pin location in which my partner ended up in when he shot onto the green. Several other greens were very brown and iin poor condition. Ive played Sugar Creek before and it was a decent course hopefully new managment can get it back in shape.
This course needs much help.
First of all; the front nine was closed only back nine in use. The fairways were muddy with areas that have no grass. The tee box grass was higher than my driver club head, long tees recommended. The greens were "bumpy" due to muddy areas with no grass. I was very upset, so only played nine holes but payed for eighteen.
Needs some upkeep
The course is in pretty fair shape with the exception of a couple of greens that appear to be suffering in the heat.
The weakest part is he cart paths. There was some work going on to patch some bad spots, but many of the paths need a full re-paving. They are really kidney busters.
Needs maintenance
Great layout and could be a very challenging but fun course. The fairways were non-existent and the greens on the front nine were poorly maintained, they were better on the back nine. For $12 we had a good time.
this course has fair features
the course needs to be keeping good maintain and otherwise. it is good.
Some fairways were so tight it was unfair and took the fun out of the game
I'm not the best golfer, I'm not the worst either. I appreciate a challenging Par 4 that requires you to be accurate with your tee shot. This course has like 7 of these holes and a few of them were too tight. Overall, too many of the same holes, conditions were what you would expect for the greens fees. If you expect manicured greens, lush fairways, freshly raked bunkers and good tee boxes for 20 bucks, you're nuts. The condition of the course was better than I expected. The greens were in very good shape. Fairways were ok, tee boxes were bad and the bunkers were brutal. If I was going to play again, I would play nine holes and I would ask to play on the back nine, which is a far better layout than the front nine. The front nine was very unimpressive to say the least.
I got on real cheap for mid morning on a weekend. The course was in poor condition.
I was able to get the front done, playing by myself, in just over an hour taking my time. I slowed and finished in a total of 2hr 45 min. Layout is fun. Staff friendly. Pace great. Course from traps to greens were in very poor shape.
Great value/friendly staff
We play here quite a bit and recently tried the couples night on Sunday. It was a lot of fun (even though we were rained out 3 holes in). Had an issue with golf18network and even though they didn't have to, the staff at Sugar Creek corrected the situation as soon as it was presented.
