Better than last year
Appears to be in a little better shape (except for a couple holes) than last year. The tee boxes need some work but, the greens are pretty good. Better wear a kidney belt if you use the cart paths though!
Play at your own risk
This was my first, last, and only time I will play this course! Hind sight being 20/20, I should have known driving up. The parking lot is in terrible shape. The course was in worse shape. The fairways, if you want to call them that, were pretty much just pastures. I don’t think they are mowed on a regular basis. The cart paths are worse than our beautiful Michigan roads. The carts are ancient, my parking break would not work. This place was so bad I stopped playing after 9 holes, I just couldn’t take it anymore.
Avoid this course at all cost!
It is obvious they don’t care about taking care of this course! There is NO fairways, they don’t cut the grass. It seems they only care about the other course Marsh Oaks. I will NOT play this course ever again. I will give Marsh Oaks a try.
Needs Help
Over booked and extremely wet and over grown. Couldn't tell if I was in the fairway or rough. Way over priced for the conditions.
Rough shape
Lots of dry spots and hardpan, greens need repairs, lots weeds and nuisance grasses in the fairways.
Good course
The cart path and a few fairwsys need work other than that had a great time and debbie was awesome on the cart
Nice track, poor carts/outhouses
The course was ok to play on a holiday. Good pace and a beer cart running. The carts on Old oaks are on their last leg. I was amazed the cart made it 18 holes. Hats off to the mechanic. Somebody had an accident in the outhouse and left their cloths covered in crap in there. Don't know how long the outhouse was like that, but you would think that the course would check on these once in a while and maybe use caution tape if required as a warning to enter at your own risk. Sorry
Soaks up water
Fun course but it had rained the night before so it takes longer for this course with a lot of water to drain our
Rude staff & starter
They treat you like an inconvenience and they course is in really bad condition. They're out to make money and really don't care about your golf experience.
Old carts
We golfed during a rain storm. The greens dried out pretty fast and were playable. The carts on the other hand stink. Marsh oaks has good carts while Old oaks has, old carts. Our first cart didn't want start without playing with the choke everytime and our second cart had a slipping transmission and squeaky brakes. It was wet so maybe that didn't help.
To expensive for the type of course
A 35-40 a round course that you have to pay 60 to play,, kinda ridiculous when a place like Golden Hawk cost 40 for the same day tee time
Always enjoy playing marsh Oaks the course was in good shape was a little wet around the edges but if I hit the ball right that would be fine

It’s a nice little practice course the greens were pretty tore up deep it’s been kind of the people to and riding in the car tats are heavy other net I enjoyed it
Improvements
This course has severely fallen off over the past 5 seasons but I was pleasantly surprised how good the course looked this early in the season. New carts for Marsh Oaks. Charging $45 for Old Oaks is ridiculous but I was still happy with how much better the course looks now compared to last season.
$60?!?! As someone that used to come an d enjoy this dump every now and again at a proper price point, never again.
As someone that used to come and enjoy this dump every now and again at a proper price point, never again. $60 for this place is comical at best, criminal at worst.
