The Old Oaks
It is evident that the Old Oaks is not treated the same as the Marsh Oaks, which is fine. The carts were a little questionable and several times we weren't sure we were going to make it the whole round on cart 39. For the most part, the course is nice, we had a great pace of play and everyone was very friendly. Would play again as a hotdeal or discount, but not full price.
Played Old Oaks for the first time Sunday 5/25 with a 12pm tee time. My son and I enjoyed the course very much. Nice layout, challenging enough for a couple beginners. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue the whole day came on the back 9 when we ended up with a male / female couple behind us. Our pace of play was right on, yet the male behind us felt the need to hit into us twice. First time was on the 15th hole par 3 and he did it again on 18. Kinda put a bad taste to the end of a great day.
Spring Round
Course has been kept up nicely over the winter, greens are in very good shape. Staff is always friendly, only dig is I went through Golf now and they gave me a gas cart, which is generally only for the old oaks course. Most always the courts on Marsh Oaks has electric carts, but I think the value customers that come in through Golf now Have to deal with the gas carts, still great time on a windy day.
$70 for a minimum $40 course is nuts
Over priced to the max last years course was $40-50 now they charging $70 for your cart to break down not even at the turn, yall need to invest in some new carts and hot dogs, before charging $70 for a cedar glen rip off. Actually insane
Early Spring Round
Oakridge has been established for many many years. It runs right alongside the newer and fresher marsh Oaks, and somehow the care for this course has gotten tired. It’s early spring so it’s hard to tell what it’s going to look like in two months, but for now the course has a lot of beard patches on the fairway and the greens were dirty and not well taken care of, possible late season aeration is to blame. The course still poses tons of good challenges and has some par fives of close to 500 yards, so there’s plenty of strategy to be had. GolfNow has some great deals for this course, me and my buddy went for 18 on a Sunday afternoon for $24 each. At that price I would go over and over and over again.
