Old Oaks needs help
While the greens are nice, the rest of the course needs a lot of help. Fairways are bare and bumpy and the tee boxes are also.
Fair Course but Slow Play
The track has a good layout with the right amount of average and challenging holes. However, the last few times I've played the pace of play was brutally slow. There were a couple rangers out that day but they never stop to ask about the slow play or speak the two groups that held everyone up.
Family outing
Great layout, but very wet and muddy. Staff was very nice and helpful
Horrible
The courses condition was horrible, the fairways on a couple holes were looking like black volcanic rock. If your ball doesn’t land on the fairway or the volcanic stuff you won’t find it in the 6-8inches of grass of rough. They also had 7 carts behind us when we went to tee off on the first hole. Will not go again
Too slow
We were not informed of the outings that were playing before out tee time. Pace of play was very slow. I shouldn’t have to pay $65 for a 6 hour round.
Not bad at all
Rained the day before and wasn't to bad. A few puddles here and there. But not too shabby. Greens in decent shape. Overall slightly above average... 7 out of 10
Rough
This course obviously has struggled with water. Lots of fairway damage and places where they can’t cut. Greens were good just a little slow. Golf cart brake would not engage when stopping kept rolling away. This told me they don’t check anything. Just under four hrs on a Saturday. Hard to tell where fairway and rough separated. Paid 30$ thru golf now. Wouldn’t again.
Rough shape for the money
Bunkers were unplayable, tee boxes and fairways were pretty thick, and greens have a decent amount of dead spots. For the price, there are some better options in the area. Staff were friendly, but just can’t stomach paying that much for the conditions of the course.
Course condition
Bit expensive for the course condition. Bunkers had little to no sand. I remember playing here years back and was a much nicer track.
Course needs work
Greens were in very good condition but everything else needs a lot of tlc…many chunks of grass taken out of the fairways and rough. Grass is probably cut 1/3 of the times it should be, everything was long with grass clipping still on the course. Worst of all was the bugs, we each had around 30 new bites by the time we finished the first 9. Only been golfing 2 years but this will hopefully be my worst course I ever play. Course is worth about 30 bucks
