Bugs where horrible
I can’t say the course was bad very well could have just been the day! The misquotes were so bad we couldn’t make it past 3 holes with bug spray . The course seemed like it was gonna be nice but couldn’t take literally 100’s of them on us while on the T box or any other shot. Play at you own rust
Marsh Oaks is always a great experience, I would never pay their full price of $65 though. It is for sure not a $65 course although it is fun.
Needs a ranger to patrol the course
It took over 2 hours to play 7 holes. We skipped the 8th & 9th holes and went over to the 10th. It took 45 minutes to play the 10th & 11th so we just left the course in disgust. Not only was the play very slow but, the condition of the course was very poor. It will be a long time before we play there again.
Ok Course - Extremely Slow Play
They book tee times every 7 minutes which creates a MASSIVE back up. We played for an hour and 15 minutes and were still waiting behind a group to tee off on the third hole. Tried to get our money back and leave. They were less than caring and said there was no chance to get a refund and that they “did not overbook”. After over 6 hours of “playing”, we only made it to hole 15 before having to leave for prior engagements. Second time this has happened.
Great Course
We were looking for a game at the last minute and they put us on the Marsh Course. Last time I played it was early in March years ago so I had probably forgotten the place. We were very surprised by the condition of the course it was great. The staff was more than accomodating in getting us on the course and also gave us the Senior discount without asking our ages. (We're seniors and the wife loves a deal) The carts are a little old but they worked fine. There was a beverage cart out all day and was available frequently. The only issue we had was passing Thunderstorms but we rode it out at the halfway house with one of the marshals. We look forward to going back. Thanks for a great day.
Good for the money
The old course it’s good for the money I like the lay outs and the par 3s are nice
Twilight Golf
Needed to find a place in the midst of the leagues to be able to get out after work. Had to go a ways before I found a tee time. But it was a pleasant surprise. Nice staff good conditions and a nicely maintained course. Only concern was pace of play. Probably could have gotten all 18 in but for the slow groups ahead.
Excellent Course and Bang for the Buck
Course was well-maintained and fun to play. Only downside was the heavy rain made for many more water traps
Old Oaks
Sand Bunkers are unmaintained, hard, you'd hurt your wrist trying to play out if them.
$50 is expensive for 18 holes on a course that's very bumpy to drive, edges of fairway grass is to ong to locat a well driven drive that bounces off..
Course Availability of be able to play was great.
Marsh Oaks is not an easy course.
Sure the conditions of the course and the carts and paths are a little rough but overall this is a pretty challenging course. With water or marsh on every hole you must hit your tee shots in certain spots or you will be fishing for balls all day. If you can get a HotDeal try out this old school course.
Over priced
I have played this course for years. Two things….$50 for twilight is ridiculous. Twilight should not be more than $20-$25. Secondly, for a regular round, Pace of play was almost 6 hours. Rangers didn’t care and said it’s beginning of golf season so everyone is out playing. People don’t want to be out there for 6 hours.
Money
$65 is Way overpriced for the course the course should be charging $45 or less . Then charge me $2.75 for a 20 oz bottled water. Let's be reasonable who visits your course.
Time to empty the porta-john
The course was wet but in very good condition.
The halfway house was closed along with the bathrooms.
One porta-john was full and the other didn't have any toilet paper.
Wife was not impressed so we're not going back for a while.
