Bear Creek
Course is in great shape and a must play. Need to have a Marshall drive around on the weekdays. There was a fivesome that slowed down the pace of play for everyone.
Pace of play needs to be monitored
Its not enjoyable playing 9 holes that took 3 hours and 15 minutes. I have played a ton of rounds here and when you finish getting a credit for the other nine, and no one is on hole 16-18, that is an issue needing to be fixed by staff. I'm very disappointed.

Excellent Course, Awesome Value
I drove 50 minutes to play this course for the first time on my day off. Just wanted to try something different and got a Golf Now "Hot Deal". This course exceeded ALL expectations. Greens were in perfect shape, not a blemish other than a few unfixed divots. The gentlemen at the pro shop was super friendly and gave me a course guide to help navigate the hazards. Tee boxes were perfectly trimmed and fairways were in excellent shape. I would drive 50 minutes each week to play this course, time permitting. If you live in St. Louis metro you have to play this course. 10/10 from me. (I shot a +22 but it had nothing to do with the course).

Horrible pace of play.
Course was nice, staff was friendly but pace of play was horrible. They squeeze too many tee times together for a weekend. We got a rain check for the back nine holes. It took 3 hours to play 8 holes.

Pace of play today was outstanding
Pace of play today was outstanding, the course was in good shape and the staff was friendly, The whole round and course could have been outstanding but wasn't because the bunkers need sand in them. This would make it a great course!

a good walk not spoiled
played here off and on for years. Normally course conditions can be iffy. Today however conditions were excellent. After the first three holes greens were were smooth and fast, first three suffered from to much shade and lack of air movement, almost impossible to prevent.
Plan to make this a regular stop for the remainder of the year.

We have noticed more beginner golfers than normal and have had our marshals working hard to keep the pace up. Holes 2, 3, and 4 are our most difficult holes (known as "The Lair"), so if that is where you noticed a slow down, it usually picks up after that area. We hope to see you again.

Bear Creek always a treat
Bear Creek has traditionally positioned itself among the top tier public courses in the St. Louis area, 2021 is no different. Why? Simple- management takes care of this course year in and year out. Don't be surprised with cartpath only after significant rain, because they will always protect this course from unnecessary tear and damage from tee to greens. The only negative point would be the sand bunkers, most all of them still need more work. But otherwise, Bear Creek does not disappoint. Look forward to more rounds there this year.

Good Course
Overall a solid play. Doesn’t hold water very well. Bunkers were toasted but the greens were rolling nice and the fairways are in good shape. Only negatives were the tee boxes needed to be cut but it also down-poured the day before so maybe they hadn't had a chance to get to it yet. Good staff and nice challenging course

Disappointing
Booked a foursome to play with visiting family....front nine took 2-1/2 hours and the backup on number 10 was three deep, saw one sixsome playing......we quit after 9, was not going to to play back none and spend 3+ hours doing it. No I repeat Mo reason for this slow pace of play.....so disappointed. They would not give a rain check either due to fact I used Golfnow....

Very slow. Paired up with another group.
I love to get out onto the course whenever I have some time off and I love to golf alone so I can get through at a decent pace. Went about a month back and was looking forward to a nice, steady day of golf. Instead of getting that I was immediately paired up with a group of 3 over 60 women, nothing wrong with that at all, golf is for everyone. However, when you pair up a 30 year old man who likes to get through 18 in 3 hours it’s very annoying when that day ends up taking 5 hours. Really kind of ruined the round. At least those older ladies were quite funny.

Pace
Realizing it was the weekend, but the Marshall s need to move players along that are slow. Players are teeing off from the Tips and should be at the white tee boxes. Some were talking two and three tee shots because they launched their ball into the woods. Course is fun to play but too crowded with players that do not know golf etiquette.
