Bear Creek Golf Club

Overall a solid play. Doesn’t hold water very well. Bunkers were toasted but the greens were rolling nice and the fairways are in good shape. Only negatives were the tee boxes needed to be cut but it also down-poured the day before so maybe they hadn't had a chance to get to it yet. Good staff and nice challenging course

Booked a foursome to play with visiting family....front nine took 2-1/2 hours and the backup on number 10 was three deep, saw one sixsome playing......we quit after 9, was not going to to play back none and spend 3+ hours doing it. No I repeat Mo reason for this slow pace of play.....so disappointed. They would not give a rain check either due to fact I used Golfnow....

I love to get out onto the course whenever I have some time off and I love to golf alone so I can get through at a decent pace. Went about a month back and was looking forward to a nice, steady day of golf. Instead of getting that I was immediately paired up with a group of 3 over 60 women, nothing wrong with that at all, golf is for everyone. However, when you pair up a 30 year old man who likes to get through 18 in 3 hours it’s very annoying when that day ends up taking 5 hours. Really kind of ruined the round. At least those older ladies were quite funny.

Realizing it was the weekend, but the Marshall s need to move players along that are slow. Players are teeing off from the Tips and should be at the white tee boxes. Some were talking two and three tee shots because they launched their ball into the woods. Course is fun to play but too crowded with players that do not know golf etiquette.

The pace of play on the front 9 was horrendous. We were backed up three groups deep on a par 5 and the issue was obvious. People thought they could reach par 5's in two and were playing tees that were clearly not appropriate for their skill level. You can't really blame the course for the overconfidence of some of these golfers, but we will not be playing here on a weekend again!

This course is really fun to play, but the pace of play is terrible. The course either needs to spread out the tee times further or have someone controlling the course and group speed. The group in front of us was playing the blue tees when they had no business playing that far back. We finally quit our round after hole 14 because on the par 5 15th, there was a group leaving the green, two groups in the fareway, a group on the tee box, and two groups waiting to tee off. At the point we had already been on the course for almost 4 hours. We love the course, but i will probably play elsewhere as the last few times have been backed up like this. I would rather pay more at other courses to wait less.

If you have not played Bear Creak you need to put this on your list. I have played most of the courses in St Louis area and always gets the best rate at Bear Creak. Yes, it is more than just the cost for a round of golf but this track is challenging and you will get to use all your clubs in the bag. I love a course that gives you lots of options to play each hole. I played on a Thursday afternoon and got the round in a little over 3 hours. I normally don't take the time to rate courses but because I take advantage of looking at reviews it was my turn to return the favor. One last comment, the greens and overall course is in great shape. I love fast, true greens and you will enjoy this track.

The course is in very good condition. The tee boxes and fairways look and play great. This is always a challenging course to play and for the price is a good deal. The only issue is the scheduling caused quite back up leaving us waiting at a majority of holes. I definitely will be playing this course again.

Course was in pretty good shape. Very noticeable that the sand traps had been recently worked for the better. Pace of play was a little slow due to some tight tee times but all was good. Extremely friendly staff always makes the course enjoyable. If you haven’t played Bear Creek it’s definitely worth giving it a try.

I had a tee time for this afternoon. I did not get to tee off until almost 30 min after my tee time because of groups in front of me waiting to tee off. Every hole had at least a 15 min delay for teeing off. It took my group (4 some) almost an hour and 20 min to get through 3 holes. Then I had enough time to drive back to the club house, grab something out of my car and get back in time to still wait 5 min before i was able to tee off. It took us 5 hours to play 11 holes and then my group just quit because there was a line of 3 people waiting to tee off at 12.

A group 2 in front of us had elementary school children, playing from the white tees with their parents and playing their own shots. I mentioned it to the guy in the pro shop and how 5 hours for 11 is ridiculous, his response was “well it’s a Sunday and cart path only so that’s what you should expect.”

This is the second time I have played this course and I have never been able to finish my round of 18. They last time I played I waited 45 minutes to tee off at the 4th hold. Spending $50+ for 18 holes I expected to be able to actually play 18 holes. I will not be back and I will let everyone I know how awful the pace of play is.

Worst scheduling I’ve ever seen. Had a tournament going on during regular tee times. It back the course up and had about four groups in front of me. Took nearly 4 hours to get the front done. On top of that got paired with someone just screaming and throwing slurs out left and right and yes i know that guy isn’t the courses fault for his actions but that’s why i hate when courses make you play with random people. They also have the range along side a hole. Nearly got hit 4 times while waiting for our turn on the tee box. One ball came about two feet from me never seen such a terrible design for a course. Pretty terrible experience.

The course is in good shape, fairways are low greens are very fast. If there's on complaint the sand traps are chunking to rough. Otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to play there again tomorrow.

Hard an excellent outing at Bear Creek today! Course in in Very Good to Excellent condition. Greens were very fast.

Enjoyed my round!

Bear Creek offers a great variety of holes, large greens, and a friendly clubhouse atmosphere. I was greeted with a smile and conversation at check in and was welcomed to the course. Conditions were good for early April. Some sand traps were under repair and had some standing water due to a recent downpour. Otherwise, the putting on the greens was great and I would love to return and play this course again.
