Room for Improvement
Course is in okay shape, greens could definitely use some work. A few things made this round less than enjoyable 1) the starter was very rude and made some unnecessary comments to our majority female group (ladies - take your money and skill elsewhere!) 2) even during our afternoon round, there were crews working while we played and some did not stop mowing when we approached their area 3) course layout is pretty unorthodox and could use some additional signage/marking. Overall, I would recommend Loudon CC over Lochmere.
Course is great and getting better
We played the course for the first time this year and noticed multiple improvements. The range balls were new and tee area much improved. Any areas on the course that needed attention are being addressed with multiple ongoing projects. Greens are running fast and true. Overall a pleasure to play.
Beautiful conditions
The course at Lochmere is in beautiful conditions. Only 1 green was a bit off. The owners take impeccable pride in the course and it shows. Lush fairways and tough rough.
Staff was very friendly, especially John the starter.
great course
A very nice course
really greening up
lots of improvements over the winter
First time this season
The clubhouse upgrades are great. Greeted with very pleasant staff. Course itself is in great shape. The changes they have been making really improve play. Pace of play was also controlled very well. Felt like we were alone on the course. We love this course and it’s views. Even though 1 hour from home, it’s well worth the drive.
very good for spring conditions
Lots of improvements over the winter.
Greens were being aerated so played back 9 2 x
Enjoy Lochmere!
I haven’t played the course this year but plan to. It’s always in great shape proving the greens crew are adept. When pace does slow, a ranger is always there to get play back on track. The layout is challenging but fair with no two holes alike. Staff including the pro is friendly with a New England sense of humor which suits us fine. Food and amenities are very good. Play Lochmere when you can!
I love this course
Totally worth of the money and time.
I'm going back next year.
Again
Played it Thursday liked it so much we went back today

Came here to check reviews because we just had the same experience. First of all, we were driving to the first tee box for the first tee time at 7:00am and the starter said to us, “where are you going?” No hello, nothing. We were a female twosome and were told by the starter that we “put him in a pickle” and he didn’t know what to do because they apparently “don’t let twosomes out before 7:30am so we don’t catch up to maintenance”. I’ve never heard of this in my life. I told him that they told us the same in the clubhouse but the person inside said it was ok, just don’t play too fast. Starter said, “He’s just the guy that works inside, I’M the starter.” (!!!) Well, we played 18 in 3 hours, 20 min and never caught up with “maintenance”. It was a Saturday and in fact, we never even saw a single maintenance crew or heard any power equipment. At one point I asked the three men behind us if the starter had said anything to them about less than a foursome before 7:30 and he said they did not. Course was in great shape, enjoyed the play but we won’t be back. Too many other courses in the area just as nice, who treat us MUCH better.
