About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Not my favorite course, BUT........
I have not played here in several years because it has not been a favorite. But I was able to get a tee time on a good weather day in Late December so why not play. To my surprise the course was in good shape, There were a few temporary tee boxes but that is to be expected in December. The fairways and tee boxes were in good shape, but the greens stole the show as they were in excellent shape. They rolled true with good speed for mid -summer greens so in December it quite the unexpected pleasure.
I will come back to play it again.
I was afraid to read after reading the title, but I guess I am glad we surprised you! Maybe next time we can become a favorite course, we will try! Thanks

Very good course
Fifth time playing here, glad we found it on GolfNow. Greens in great shape and the bunkers have real sand, not hard packed mud like so many others we have played. Narrow fairways but not a lot of trees so it’s pretty easy to find your errant shots. Cold weather may have kept some people away but we played 18 in under four hours.

Beautiful greens
Fourth time playing this course, greens are in great shape. Narrow fairways make it challenging. Not a lot of elevation changes but not flat either.
