About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Best Maintained Course this Year
Course was in fabulous shape from tee to greens. Pace of play was fine and cost was fair. Always a challenge on this course but it is always enjoyable.
Price too high...system does not allow price for walking
Mr Cross, as we discussed before your round. Our system does allow walking and charges accordingly, all day every day,. You chose to book a Hot Deal which is not a Mattawang Tee Time. Those hot deal times do not offer walking fees. It's seems unfair to make comments about the course which are not factual.
Good course worth playing at a hot deal price
Mattawang is a nice course, but not spectacular. The course is pretty challenging because it is long and many holes are tight because of trees and/or high grass in the rough.
The greens are really nice - soft for holding good chip shots and medium speed for putting. The fairways are good, softer than most municipal courses but not as soft as country club conditions. The rough is a problem - very patchy grass, not consistent.
Overall, a good course if you get a Hot Deal price through GolfNow.

Slow but good
Started late snd we had an 828 tee time so idk how that happened. Then we were backed up all day. Course was in good shape and if was a pretty nice course.

Wonderful Day On The Course
Been playing here for the last 2.5 years and still find the course as challenging and exciting as I did day 1. The layout forces you think about every shot. Holding chips on the green and putting on fast greens are tough. Fairways and greens are in great shape overall. There are some wet, mushy spots due to the rains but they don't take away from the gameplay. Today was slow play as a single for during the week but they let me jump ahead. I'm a 7-9 handicap and typically shoot low to mid 80s there.
Thanks for playing Mattawang. It is nice to see someone who enjoys the challenge of Mattawang. The course is not as easy as the scorecard looks!

Another nice day at Mattawang. Everything is nice & green…good shape & pace of play was very good even with a bunch of people everywhere. Played in 4 hrs. Solid course, enjoyable day.

The course is kept up nicely especially the greens at this point in the year. Fairways unfortuntely had some significant damage spots. Nice course but a tiny bit overpriced for how the fairways were looking.
