About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Consistently very good
AS usual course was in excellent shape. Fairways and greens lush. Traps in very good shape. Marshalls were out policing to keep things moving fine. PLease get the grill going and install ball washers at all the holes.
Be back again soon.

Sorry but the grill will not be out for the remainder of the season. Once we get through Covid and the shortage of Food and Beverage staff through out the whole country, we will re-look at the Food Operation. Until that time, snacks are available inside the golf shop.
Great value
Some very challenging holes like 18. For whatever reason, there are usually not a lot of players on the course so we played the round in about 3 1/2 hours with no waiting at all. To me, this is the most important factor these days as many courses are booked solid and you have to wait 10 to 20 minutes between holes. Staff was very friendly and tee boxes and greens are in great shape.

Pace of play is terrible on weekends
Waited 10 minute after each hole to tee off. Terrible experience
This past Sunday were our slowest rounds in the last two seasons. We had a couple slow groups early that were reminded throughout their round that their pace was not up to standards. Sorry your round was effected.
Super conditions
Course was in great shape. Fairways & greens were in exceptional condition. The only thing lacking was no ball washed or water on the course due to Cov-19. Which I think is rediculous! All the courses are doing this though.
I would definitely recommend the course is LONG 6500+ from the White tees.

Ball washers and water have been brought up on a regular basis the last two seasons and many golfers have their own thoughts. We are making decisions
and trying to be as safe as possible in these confusing times.
ok needs some more work
greens are great! traps are in progress (some new sand added -- needs more) and compacting/grooming), tees need some love -- need to be leveled badly.

Course is in Great shape
We have played Mattawang many times over the years, and this year in particular the course has been in great condition from the early spring to the dog days of summer. Mother nature has helped with steady rain throughout the summer and this has helped keep the greens receptive and the fairways lush and soft. but not too soft. The greens are somewhat small, but putts rolled great and true. Pin placements were fair and easily accessible. All in all a great day of golf.

Guy we got paired up with used the restroom and the toilet fell over with him on it. Could have ended him.

Nice course condition with heavy rough
The course is in good shape. We play 18 holes in 3 and 1/2 hours.

Back at Mattawang
I have played the course since about 1982 The conditions are as good as I have ever seen there. Small greens are a challenge. The last 5 holes can be difficult and/or quirky. Finishing hole is as tough as any I play. Pace was excellent getting the round in under 4 hours. That has been a rare thing on many courses the last 2 years.
Thanks for returning to Mattawang. We agree on the last five holes and the finishing hole all are a real test of 'old school shotmaking".
