About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Maintenance level has stepped up a lot since our last time out. Greens were pure and the fairways were in good shape.

Another great round at Mattawang!
Course was in great shape, and usually is. You have room to be a little crooked off the tee but your approach shots must be on point coming into the postage stamp sized greens. Greens were rolling great and the bunkers had plenty of sand. Can’t recommend this course enough.

Overbooked
They over booked and the started followed everyone around the course telling them they were two slow, when we waited every hole for the group in front. People were screaming four the whole day, because we were on top of each other. The golfer with us was hit in the ankle with a ball. Never experienced such a bad of golf.
Just to clarify, 70 degrees in November makes for a popular golf course. The course was not overbooked, however the course was 100% full of available tee times.
The two rangers that day did their best to keep everyone moving to a enjoyable pace. I received many compliments about the job that was done. Sorry you do not agree.

Great Day Out There
As always, course was in excellent shape, fairways lush and greens in mint condition. We play this at least twice a month, pace was of play great, finished in 3 hr. 45 minutes, course is always competitive, maintenance did a great job of blowing leaves off, we will be back again next Saturday. My friends in my group love coming here!
