About
Meadows Golf Club in Lincoln Park offers a casual and enjoyable round for players of all skill levels. For more of a challenge, golfers can try the blue tees while the white and the red tees are more forgiving of errant shots. The course sprawls across mostly flat terrain but there are a few subtly elevated greens to contend with. The layout is situated amidst native wetlands, which come into play on many of the holes. The back nine is more challenging than the front, with the toughest hole being the par-5 13th. At 455 yards, it's not a long hole but there are two large fairway bunkers and an elevated green that is surrounded by even more sand. The best view on the golf course can also be enjoyed from the middle of the green on this hole.

What happened!!!?
I used to play this course many times...between value and ability to get on as a single player learning the game it was the little course that could. I recently played here and couldn't have been more disappointed. Yes it's a great value, but jeez what happened to taking care of the course. I realize fall means repairs and maintenance but wow..it was completely unplayable. Fairways destroyed, most greens unprepared, bunkers flooded or hard as clay. Pace of play ? Well understood since it can get crowded but no where a ranger to be found to help the situation. We had to end our 2pm start 4 holes early due to darkness. Yes...12 holes 4 hours!!!! I'm a bit bummed out becaue I will not play this again. No thank you I'll take the longer drive and spend the extra $20 for other courses.

Temp tees
Over all ok. Every hole had temp tee boxes and green were all sandy. The rest of the course were in good shape.

Conditions
Completely understand that aeration has ro take place and course maintenance is important. However, when all 18 tee boxes are closed and the temporary tees are mostly by the yellow or red, it should be stated before someone books the time. A decision can then be made by the patron as ro whether the fee is worth it.

Trying to get from hole was a bit confusing , the holes were not very well marked

So slow
Never seen a course more packed. Not exaggerating when I say there were 2-3 groups on EVERY hole. I broke off from my foursome to try and go faster playing through people and it still took me over 2 and a half hours to play nine (with cart). I booked 18 but decided to get off then. Tee boxes were also a joke. Most of them literally had no grass on them, just dirt. Better courses in the area for a similar price. Not returning.

The course overall was in good shape. The tee boxes could use some TLC but fairways and greens were good.

Getting better
I think this is the third management team that has been here in the last ten years. Seem to be making the right moves. Course has improved. Have to watch out for people bypassing the starter and sneaking out on to the back half of the course
