Meadows Golf Club

About
Meadows Golf Club in Lincoln Park offers a casual and enjoyable round for players of all skill levels. For more of a challenge, golfers can try the blue tees while the white and the red tees are more forgiving of errant shots. The course sprawls across mostly flat terrain but there are a few subtly elevated greens to contend with. The layout is situated amidst native wetlands, which come into play on many of the holes. The back nine is more challenging than the front, with the toughest hole being the par-5 13th. At 455 yards, it's not a long hole but there are two large fairway bunkers and an elevated green that is surrounded by even more sand. The best view on the golf course can also be enjoyed from the middle of the green on this hole.

No bang for the buck
The positive is nice staff and easy to get a time. Down side is mediocre fairway and the greens hadn't been cut. Like putting on your carpet. Compared to Preakness for about the same money, there is no comparison
Used to be decent
I’ve always defended Meadows being that the price used to be lower than other local courses. I also understand it rained a lot, however the course greens yesterday were unplayable. You could have hit a slap shot with your putter and the ball would barely move. The sand traps were all swimming pools. Again, I understand the weather and location, but lower the price for the day if you’re going to stay open with such poor conditions.
Needs lots of work.......
on multiple (chewed up) tee boxes, fairways, greens. Otherwise, an easy, playable course for intermediate players.
Course was a bit burned out
Overall, it is a decent course, but there were too many bare spots on tee boxes, fairways, and greens. In fact, sometimes you could see where they had put down sod, but let it dry out and die. On certain tee boxes, I had to invoke the 2 club distance rule from the tee markers to find a spot that was relatively flat and had sufficient amount of grass so I didn't have to worry about my trail foot slipping while I teed off. Additionally, I don't think they roll their greens or mow them down low enough. The areas of the greens that were not patchy were very slow. For a beginner or someone just looking to get out and focus on keeping the ball in play, this course if perfectly fine. But for anyone with a handicap of 15 or better, there are better options within a 30 minute drive.
Overpriced
Course is mid at best, although they have been doing a great job improving course conditions since last time. For now, better to drive another 30 min for a better, cheaper course.
Don’t listen to reviews
The weekend morning prices are steep; however, other than that this course has a pretty fun design. It’s not in the best shape ever but very very far from unplayable or even horrible. I got a deal time and paid 40$ and had a great time. Worth every penny and would do it every chance I got
Worst ever
Pls do not play at this course. Probably the worst in new jersey. Staff is rude. Course is horribly maintained. Lots of beginner golfers.
Backyard golf
Tee boxes and greens are infested with crabgrass. Used to be good value and you get what you pay for, but 70 bucks to play basically in the backyard is a ripoff
Incredibly slow
Incredibly slow. Nearly 3 hours for 9. Massive bees in most bunkers were a problem and the course condition wasn’t great.
Would play again, but not for $70.
It's a $30 course
It was a dry 85 degree day. We opted to walk 18. $60 to walk 18 was a bit steep, but it was a Saturday and very busy. After the first hole, we realized we were in a war zone. People yelling and cursing from the holes next to us all day, Divots and dirt patches everywhere on the green, balls flying and being stolen left and right, tons of first time people out on the course. Many times we'd be waiting on the tee box because someone from another hole shanked it, then took their sweet time on our fairway.
The worst part of the day was the fact that there was no water anywhere to be found on the course. Neither the front nor the back 9 had any spot for water. On a hot summer day with the price we paid, i'd expect some sort of water out there.. but there was no management of the course in any way.
Save yourself the pain and only play here if you're getting a twilight tee-time for $25. I will definitely never come here on a weekend again. Terrible.
Bees and Browns
Pace of play was good for walking but two major issues:
- one whole has 100’s of carpenter bees swarming around the sand trap. Serious health issue if you are allergic to bees
- greens are not well maintained and over 50% has brown/dead grass
