Mays Landing Golf Club
About
Former president of the PGA of America, Leo Fraser, designed the 18-hole public course at the Mays Landing Golf Club with both advanced and beginning golfers in mind. Touted as the "best birdie for the buck," the Mays Landing golf course provides a great value for all golfers. The course was meticulously designed over 175 acres of beautiful pineland with scenic tree-lined fairways.
Mays Landing Golf Club provides an experience similar to one at a private country club with its excellent service and amenities including a pro shop, restaurant, and PGA instructors on site. On hot days they even have cool towels for you and they always have roaming beverage carts. The course is 6,633 yards at the longest tees, playing to a par of 72.

Course is in Rough Shape
Tee boxes and greens were ok on most holes but the fairways are essentially nonexistent. This course has slipped in quality over the years but is still playable if you are looking for a quick round and low cost compared to other courses around.
Good for price
People give this course a hard time, the course needs some work but for the price it's fine, front nine needs alot of work back nine is decent its obviously not a professional course but its good if you have golf habits and aren't trying to pay 150 for the day
Was probably very good years ago
The layout of the course and the fact no one else was playing when I went were the best parts.
The bad parts are many sadly. Fairways are in terrible condition. Sand traps and mostly dirt and rocks. Greens a good thankfully.
Sadly on a 90 degree day there was zero water on the course.
Also what looks like a nice tavern that they advertise on their site has been closed for a few years now.
Mays Landing Golf NJ
Layout is very nice! Greens and Tee Boxes had a couple that needed work but rest in good shape. Fairways are in tough shape due to drought. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I play course regularly due to price and pace of play. Find playing early can play round in 3 hours.
Worst course I’ve ever played, by far
I mean the staff was friendly but that’s about the only good thing i could say about this course. They should be thrown in jail for charging 70 dollars. Tee boxes were either dirt or 2 inch high grass. Hit a good shot in the fairway? You have to move it every time to even attempt to find some sort of mixture of grass/weeds to hit. Greens were like putting on shaggy carpet or dirt. Bunkers were full of rocks. I don’t know when the last time they used a lawnmower. My suggestion is if you’re in AC and want to golf find somewhere else or don’t go golfing. I’ve played a lot of bad courses in my life that i would play again for fun, this one isn’t even playable my boys will never let me live it down that i booked this
Not worth the money
Course was in terrible shape except for a handful of greens. Some fairways were literally just crab grass and sand. No water in clubhouse or on course. Only reason $70 was even close to worth it is because it was the only course in the area with morning Tee Times.
This course has potential
If this course would take advantage of the creeks and rivers that runs through the course; it would help solve a need for rain. This course was so dry. It has a average to good layout. It just had no beauty. Coming in town to enjoy the ocean and board walk. Golf is my number one for relaxation. Hope Mays Landing receive a good down pour of rain so it can green up. Not worth the monies paid to play here.
They could do better…but they could do worse…
I paid about $60 to play…Tee’d off at 11:45 and wrapped up under 4 hours which was nice…but the bunkers aren’t maintained, lots of dead grass and patchy areas…the greens were good though…tee boxes were good. If you’re looking for a cheaper price compared to other courses in the areas, you should go here. Lower your expectations and enjoy the fact you’re golfing and you’re gonna be pleased…expect Harbor Pines or Twisted Dunes and you’ll be disappointed.
