Greens great shape
The course has had a lot of improvements over the last years. Par 3 holes have had major upgrades and are in superb shape. The greenery that was planted enhances the beauty of the course too.. It’s truly a beautiful piece of property. The greens are quick and true. Fairways in pretty good shape even with this very hot weather. Price is slightly high but got a decent price on golf now.
SCOTTS RETIREMENT
THERE ARE SEVERAL BLIND SPOTS ON THE COURSE THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESS WITH A COW BELL OR SOMETHING TO LET THE GOLFERS BEHIND KNOW THAT IT'S CLEAR TO PLAY - WE WERE HIT INTO SEVERAL TIMES ON THE FRONT NINE AND HAD TO LET THEM PLAY THROUGH SO WE DID NOT GET HIT WITH A BALL AND INJURED.
Golf Day
Course in great shape. Need a ranger out on course to push slow groups and guys hitting 4 balls off tee and 3 mulligans while working to hole. Had fun and will return but if you going? Make sure you have 5hrs. Improve your courses pace.
Good Condition
The course is in good condition with the exception of some of the sand traps needing sand instead of dirt. A few of the greens must have been setup to honor the US Open, as some of the pin placements made putting difficult. Also dodging the sprinklers for half the day wasn't ideal.
Great Round
From start to fish, staff was very helpful. Pace of play was fast, and course conditions were perfect. Greens were smooth and fast!
Great Value
Best course in the area for it being public and easily accessible
Golden P
Tee to green conditions were excellent. Bunkers are in need of some better sand. For some reason some had standing water in them. Greens were cut, however some have too much pitch from back to front. Makes it nearly impossible to stop the ball on any downhill or side hill putt. Just beware.
Great local course
Golden Pheasant is in great shape this season. The staff has done an excellent job getting ready. Definitely will play multiple times this season.
Nice course but....
So this was the second time playing this course. Played last year. I remember it being good just had alot of poison ivy on it. This year I played solo again. Got a great hot deal like last year. Last year got paired with 2 great guys who knew the course. It's a nice course with alot of weird holes. Some are very dangerous because you can't see if people are infront or behind you. Also rough was high as well as grass around green which made shots harder & potential could lose alot of balls. I'm not a person who hits a straight shot alot and if a hook or slice into the woods, I expect to lose my ball. However, I shouldn't lose my ball if I hit it a little left or right and land in rough. That just frustrates me. Also pace of play is very slow. It was on the weekend so expected it to be slow but it was really slow. The saving grace for this course are the workers. They went above and beyond. Super nice! The course was in great shape too. Greens, tees, & fairways were in great shape. Only one hole were fairway grass was gone, very small section and of course my ball landed there, lol. I won't play this course again since it wasn't close to me & not worth the trip.
My outing
The pace of play was not the best but I always enjoy my outing at Golden Pheasant
Course in great shape
Kudos to the marshal for speeding up a really slow group who had over a full hole gap. Course was in great shape and has a nice lay
Golden Pheasant Review
Course has a putting green, netted driving range and chipping green. Staff is very friendly. I was able to play by myself for the day. The day I played it was raining the whole time but the course was able to handle the rain. Fairways and tee boxes were in excellent condition. Pace of play was slow but the group in front of me let me play through. Overall great course.
First Timer
Seen this course on the app, and wanted to play. Heard positive feedback from those who have played, and opportunity present to get a few golf friends together for a foursome. Pace of play was slow at times, and we are all quick pace of play golfers. But considering we book our tee time during prime hours, no complaints. Will be looking to return.
Very good course overall - recommended improvements
I have been playing Golden Pheasant Golf Club for many years. Management has made numerous improvements to the course over the past several years which is very commendable. Fairways, greens, and rough (yes…. rough) are routinely groomed very nicely. There is little deadpan surface area on the course. The cart paths are in very good condition. The front nine holes are more densely laid out than the back nine holes which could lead to being struck by errant shots by other golfers but this is not frequent.
The two areas needing improvement are: 1) clubhouse/dining/bar and 2) sand traps. The clubhouse/dining/bar areas are outdated and should be significantly refreshed. I hear the Golden Pheasant owner is considering replacing these areas in the future with new buildings. This would be a SIGNIFICANT investment but would greatly elevate the club to a much higher level with improved facilities. The second needed improvement is the upgrading of the course’s sand traps. Currently, many of the sand traps lack sufficient quantity of BRIGHT WHITE sand. Instead, these traps have little sand, have areas of hard pan surface, and are not regularly groomed. Management needs to simply invest in placing a large quantity of BRIGHT WHITE (not cream colored) sand in all of the sand traps which will greatly improve play from these bunkers and further improve overall course conditions at minimal cost and minimal effort. The BRIGHT WHITE sand will help to better showcase the course’s well groomed fairways and greens similar to other upscale golf courses.
Lastly, the entire staff is very friendly and personable.
Just saying.
