Golfer Reviews
Golden Pheasant
This year has been tough on courses and Golden Pheasant is having its own issues.
The day we played pretty much all the bunkers were filled with water. This is one area that needs to be addressed. Certain holes on this course don't get enough sun and hence were damp. Also, this leads to inconsistencies in their greens. Overall a good course but one that needs some tlc.
Meh
Course was challenging layout and emphasis on shot selection and execution. However course conditions were less than ideal. Burnt out fairways from water collection and thin in many spots. Pace of play was horrible. Quit on 15 and I played during the week.
Great course-well maintained
I play here often in a twilight League and recommend highly. Well-maintained and a lot of money was put into improving the course over the past two Years. The course layout is great and challenging. A lot of nice inclines for flat New Jersey. I’ve brought many friends/family to play this course with me and will continue to do so.
Pheasant
Course was in great shape, considering there was heavy rain 2 days prior.
Club house
This course is nice. I wasn’t a fan of how they have 3 holes back to back to back on the front 9 that are all pretty much the same. Club house needs to be redone. Very outdated and old. Prices are pretty high for what it was.
Friendly staff though and the greens were for the most part maintained well.
Great early July, terrible late july
Greens were poor. Hornets nests in the fairways. 2hr 15 minutes to play front, 2 foursomes waiting on 10th tee ahead of our group. Would have been a 3 hr back nine if we stayed
Course price is fair. Unfortunately, the blind tee shots on holes 5 and 6 make for danger with groups ahead. this also leads to slow play .
This has always been the case with regard to Golden Pheasant. It is known as the hard hat area.
Will be back
Played the course once before - a couple of years ago.
Course is in great shape except for the bunkers which are terrible .
Nice touch is complimentary bottles of water .
It was a very hot day and with no where on the course to refill your water bottle , it was nice to be able to grab an ice cold bottle and again at the turn .
Fine course with some funky holes
Course was totally fine. Greens were not fast but rolled pretty smooth. Fairways were in pretty good shape. There are some really funky holes where you are hitting a mid iron off the tee because of how tight the doglegs are. Need to play a few times to figure out clubs/lines off the tee. Some fun drivable par 4s on the back 9 and some tricky par 3s. Overall a fun place to play.
