Bowling Green Golf Club is in the heart of northern New Jersey, surrounded by miles of idyllic countryside. An abundance of mature oaks and towering red pines characterizes the scenic course. This quick, shady layout is a great round for walkers. The golf course has a classic links design that is easily played in less than four hours. Like most traditional links courses, the gently undulating terrain has the perfect pitch and roll. It also provides each hole with unique challenges that require accuracy and strategy. Trees heavily line the fairways, presenting some of the course's most formidable challenges. Bowling Green Golf Club's front nine is slightly more forgiving than the back nine, which incorporates the natural ponds and wetlands on a few holes. There are also some tricky doglegs to contend with.

Lucky day
Friday the 13th. Hah!! The course played beautifully.
A well kept gem. Love playing here.
Wasn’t informed that the greens were aerated that day. Two holes had even temporary greens on the fairway. Had a bad outing.
Not worth it!
I can't believe this place is in the top 10 for NJ public courses. The tee boxes are horrible, completely torn up and not flat. No one fills a divot or repairs a ball mark. It's really not in good shape at all for $135 time. Really disappointed.

overall great course, should the price be cheaper for a somewhat busy track and not superb conditions. yes, just two years ago it was around 95-115$ during the early season months now 140-150$
Leaves Everywhere
It's Fall so Difficult to Find Ball with Leaves everywhere and difficult to focus with leaf collector machine roaring, Course layout is tricky, we missed a hole.
New Jersey in the fall is tough
As much as I love playing this course, it was really difficult to play with all the leaves coming off the trees which really has nothing to do with the course layout. It’s just nature.. Would love to go back once the leaves are finally falling because it was impossible to find balls that were hitting into the fairway. We brought our own electric leaf blower and still lost balls
