Showed up early for a 1:30 tee time. The place was empty, but we had to wait until exactly 1:30 before being allowed to tee off. The course was muddy after a rain the night before. Greens are not good. After the round we wanted to get a beer at the bar, but were told that we had to have a card of some sort which takes 48 hours to get.
Rude Staff, Poorly Maintained, Groundwater Flooding
I have played this course about 2 dozen times, as it is a good beginner course and it is about 3 miles from my residence. I've had positive experiences in the past, but the last 3 outings have been disasterous.
There is a groundwater problem, the greens are unmaintained and saturated. Teeboxes are hilly, changed throughout the season, and riddled with crab grass. There are maintenance holes 4 feet wide and 4 feer deep in front of nearly every green. That's not even the bad part.
If you book with GolfNow, you are treated with resentment and as a lesser-than. Tim, the "manager" will either make you wait til exactly 1:30 for a 1:30 tee time, or send out others in a different party in front of you, and tell you to catch up and play as a group. You can't win. You're either too early or too late when you show up on time. He'll groan and ask how much you paid for a hot deal. Keep in mind, this is while there are about 5 people on the course. This is a dying business and will be shut down within a year. Save your money and go to Rancocas for a few extra bucks.
Sewage in every hole
First time playing this course. There was sewage in every hole. The grounds were saturated with sewage and a strong odor as well. This course should not operate under these conditions until the problem is fixed. Unsanitary
A short Challenge
Condition was poor in that they just seeded all greens and fairways. But we just kicked it to a better lie !
Yes it's short , but there is trouble on every hole , required you to make a shot
Surprise Aerating upon arrival
Have played at this course for over 10 years now and the only thing that has really changed has been their rates. I remember getting 18 holes, a cart, and lunch for $19. Now they have the same special for $35. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but, without the lunch special, you get greens fees of $30. I'm not sure if they are aware of the competition that they have within a 15-20 mile radius that not only has comparable or lower rates, but also significantly better course conditions.
With that being said, I booked a round for my friend (who is brand new to golf) and myself on GolfNow for a whopping $25, fees included. Perfect for my novice friend, and good for working out my long irons from the tees. When we arrived on Wednesday (I booked the round on Monday) for our tee time, the gentleman in the clubhouse advised me that only the front 9 was open as "they aerated it yesterday, and they are doing the back today". Thus we had to play the front 9 twice. This was a bit disappointing as I have seen on GolfNow instances where there are course "advisories" such as aerating that are brought to your attention prior to booking.
Terrible.
Every visit the course seems to get worse. Today you had to play the back nine twice. 7 of 9 greens were complete mud. Tee boxes uneven and completely dirt. Even with a hot deal, I will not play here again. Not only a waste of money, but a waste of time.
Awful Experience
DO NOT GO TO THIS COURSE! The staff is extremely rude and did not honor my golfnow rate or time that i booked. They should be taken off the golf now servers. THe course was in absolute awful condition. Diseased greens and a poor layout. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL
Meh
Not bad for $17 with cart. Course is in rough shape with lots of infected/diseased greens and tees. Fairways difficult to distinguish from rough. Great length for beginners.
Disappointed
Dear Golf Now,
Our reservation for two golfers was handled perfectly. We did however bring a third player. Springfield Golf Center refused to extend the discounted offer we booked to our third player and required them to pay full price to join us.
I had tried to add one player on Golf Now's app without success. Disappointed in course management but GN was great! I'll use your app again but at a different course!

Stay away
I have played this course before in the past and enjoyed it. Today I had a deal on golf now to play for $10 can't beat that. Walked into the pro shop at 1:15 for my 1:30 tee time and the grumpy old man tells me I can't even check in or get a cart until 1:30. At 1:30 I check in and proceed to the 1st tee where one man had just teed off. (They have no starter and rangers are rare). 50% of the tee boxs or greens had water gushing up from the sprinkler heads or puddles from the leaks on the greens. They did not warn us of this at the proshop. The greens have huge dead patches and are in terrible shape. This is by far the worst course in the area stay far away even for $10.
Nice course
Friendly staff, good condition.
not as easy as i expected
The course was not as easy and was a little more interesting then I expected. It has enough variety and challenges to make it a viable round of golf, that is if you are not a single handicapper who hits it 275.If that is the case then move on there is nothing to see here. If you can get the golf now deal that I (and 3 other cheapskates) got, it is worth the trouble. For those who are just beginning or are introducing friends or kids to the game, this course does have it share of force carries so bring extra balls. I'll be back anytime I can get the deal from Golf Now.
golf
not in good condition, unfriendly staff, seemed to be annoyed that we booked thru golfnow
Very unfriendly staff - is actually hostile towards GolfNow bookings. Makes me wonder why they are on GolfNow.com
Nice beginner course..... UNFORTUNATELY
2nd time playing there..... It's a nice short course for beginners or for those like me who are "always trying to find their swing" Course was pretty much empty which made for great pace of play. Also, great price on golf now.... BUT THERE WERE A COUPLE PROBLEMS
1) It's advertised as 5800 from the blues.... And it's barely 5000.
2) The greens were just aerated and there was no mention of that on golfnow
3) The greens are going bad fast.... (I guess they aerated to try to save them, because most greens were pretty close to unplayable)
I played there 2 weeks ago and most of the greens were fine, It would make me concerned what they will look like in another 2 weeks.
OVERALL, I can't complain for the great deal I got on golf now, BUT I wanted to let people know what they are getting into it they go there.... WOULD NEVER PAY FULL PRICE.
Awful
Wouldn't recommend playing here to anyone. Don't forget to bring some sort of mallet or hammer in order to get tees in the ground. Greens were rock solid, and brown. Customer serice was awful, terrible course for the money overall. I could recommend 5 better courses for cheaper than this place.
Staff Does Not Honor Golf Now Prices
There is always an issue when it comes to paying for the round here. GolfNow has offered several special deals at Springfield Golf Center, but the staff does not honor them. On several occasions I have reserved a tee time via GolfNow for a set price, only to be informed that the rate I booked it for is not what I will be charged. I wasted money on an online convenience fee and ended up being charged $10-20 more than what I booked online.
If the faculty can not honor the rates on GolfNow, they should not be on their site.
Overall this course is overpriced. I have been golfing there since I was a child and I will admit that the course conditions have improved, but a single round here is not worth the amount that they charge.
We still, and forever will,l refer to it as "The Farm".
Nice course basically but not many ball washers
Nice course basically but not many ball washers
greens need work
there's spots on almost every green that have some kind of fungus and people don't repair their ball marks.
good course to practice your game
the course was very open and fairly easy. One or two interesting holes - water on some holes - few sand traps. the course was flat and short.
Good enough
I payed much more to play course R, and quite frankly springfield was in better shape. And in all fairness the greens were aerated and we are coming off winter... The course is coming around nicely. Don't know if this time of the year I would have rated any public course any higher. Thank you.
Had the same experience - would not allow check-in even 1 min before 1:30.
Asked if I were 15 min late would that affect my slot, said no but the next time out I arrived 5 min late and they made me catch up to the Hot Deal group already reaching the 1st green. I was not able to tee off. So I am TEED off!
Staff is very unfriendly towards GolfNowers - makes me wonder why they participate.
