Will Play Here Again
Good layout; green rolls true. Pin placement can be tricky. Drivable greens. No cart girls on weekdays, which is understandable. But no hotdogs at the bar? We teed off at 7:30. Pace was good. Rangers don’t hassle you, which is great. The groundsmen though; one guy knew to stop and wait while we hit. The other guys on huge tractors gave zero care about the players’ presence; dangerous and also annoying because I’m trying to hit a wedge to save par and this guy keep mowing around the greens like he is the reason the course is open. No, it’s the paying patrons. Perhaps a talk may be to great benefit. One of those guys actually mowed across and picked up a ball my buddy hit. Ridiculous.
Nice public course with ridiculously flawed greens
The course is nice with one flaw, the greens. First, the greens are domed on the edges. When the flag is close to the green's edge, there is a good chance the ball will roll off on either a chip approach or a long putt. Also, I can think of two greens that are ridiculously tilted. I watched my friend, an above average golfer, chip on one green and watched the ball roll back to his feet three times. These green designs are flaws for a public course causing higher than necessary scores for average golfers and contributes to slower play.... Please fix the greens! (Course condition fair due to greens)
Bring your short game
Course condition was excellent. Fairways a bit tight and fairly short so if you can hit it straight it doesn’t matter your distance, you should be on in regulation. The focal point here are the greens. They are fast and undulating so you’d better land low for uphill putts or you’ll be rolling way past the hole all day maybe even off the green altogether. Pace of play was good especially for a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Water stations along the way were appreciated as well as a small hot dog stand at the turn. Have to mention the wildlife on and around the course. Many deer and birds abound. Had to wait to tee off on the first hole while a deer crossed the fairway. All in all it was a little pricey but if you can find a deal it’s well worth it to test you chipping and putting skills here.
Nice track...tough greens
I play this course 3-4 a year. This round, weather was perfect. Course is in great shape, tees, fairways, greens. Most holes you don't need to be a big hitter, just keep it in play and you will be fine. The greens can be treacherous, especially if you are above the hole. Being below the hole is best, but even these are tough with ball movement right at the hole. If you are putting hole high, across the green, you may get big benders that the more you play it high, if you miss, you end up 10-15 below the hole. At least now you have an up hill putt! Staff, starter are very nice. They are rebuilding the club house, so a little drive arounds but signage is good. Also they allow you to drive carts into parking lot after playing, which I like! (I hate carrying my club to the car after a round!!)
Things change
I know you’re renovating but do you still have to charge full prices
Come on man
Fun Course in Good Condition
Played on a Sunday afternoon for $83 which was bit much. Due to rain earlier in week, it was cart path only. But that was the only thing that impacted pace of play, as we did not have to wait to hit many shots. I liked the variety of holes from a very long downhill par 3 and a very short uphill par 3. We drove 50 minutes to get there and I would say it was worth the trip.
Don’t pay $80+
Guy working the register in the pro shop wasn’t happy to be there. Outside staff/starter were helpful and friendly. Very challenging layout with a lot of potential. The greens were healthy for the most part. Very slow due to recent rain. They get constantly beat up by people not fixing divots and the foot traffic. Healthy fairways and tee boxes. A few tee boxes are definitely under repair. Very very very narrow fairways which was an awesome challenge. Fun course but not worth paying over $70 dollars for honestly. Would love to come back but will have to wait for a better price. Not worth the $83 I paid even though it was Sunday. Close to a 5 hour round with nobody checking pace of play. Group in front of us had the hole open in front of them and we had a train of groups behind us.
All in all- challenging/likeable layout, potential to be very solid greens with appropriate weather, lots of golfers which is a good thing although you have to keep your head on a swivel and great golf carts with gps. Drink amenities/cart girl were great.
Nice Round
Was a really hot/humid day so course was not overly crowded. Was able to get a round in a little over 3 hours. Much different than some of the times I have played here which are normal 4-4.5 hours. Got a good $ rate with Golf Now. Although a nice course, I don't think it's worth regular rate. Course was in very good shape and greens were good. I play here 3-4 times a year so for me its worth coming back and a nice track.
