Great public course
The course is always in great shape and we played on a Sunday afternoon in just over 4 hours
Good Condition
Overall the course is in good shape. Some of the tee boxes are crowned and make teeing off difficult, especially #10. I like that the GPS on the carts show the pin placements. I don't like that the GPS on the carts disable the carts if you drive in certain spots, some of which are in the fairways and the rough of the holes you are playing (not referring to par 3's).
Great And well kept, just expensive to play.
Everything is as immaculate as I remember from the last time I played there as a member in 2019. It’s just gotten ridiculously expensive. $95 for a par 70 as a local resident is just too much to justify playing here often. I have 2 boys that I’d love to play here with but doesn’t make sense. I’ll drive the 40 minutes to save thirty dollars and go to one of the immaculate courses in Mercer County. Plus they offer rates for Youth on Course which is a giant plus for us. But I get it, Pennsauken can get this price from those coming over from Philly so they’d lose too much money giving more kids a chance to play here.
Hidden Gem
This is one of my favorite places to play in NJ and is always well kept. I go 2-3 times a yr.
This course has great features
A south Jersey gem. Probably one of the top courses in the area.
Slowww
Greens were slow pace of play was absurd! One groups like 3 ahead of us was just out there acting a fool they were on hole 7 and the next group im front of them was on 10!! And the gap grew larger as we went!! Starters and fake rangers did nothing just sat on tee boxes with 2/3 groups everytime waiting $80 to play on a weekday afternoon like lets do something about pace of play if you are charging that for a par 70 course. The greens were also very slow it was annoying that usually is not an issue there but the slow play crushed us. 5hr 27minute round!! Probably gonna avoid this place for awhile. I feel bad for members dealing with that nonsense! Half the reason it takes so long to play is because the genius who put the yellow cart boundary dots that shut the carts off did a terrible job, the carts turn off in the dumbest places one spot they turn off on is the actual CARTPATH! get rid of the yellow dots or or have someone with a brain put them in the appropriate spot! Course was fun prior to the new carts causing pace of play to be a nightmare. Anyone playing here for the first time will have atleast 20 minutes added to their round just because of the carts turning off alll the time in the fairway!! Do better pennsauken!!
Slow play in the morning should be outlawed
Beautiful day and the 4 SLOWEST PLAYERS possible were in front of us. My frustration led me to quit by the 16th. Could not get into any pace of play. I really liked the course but not with the speed of a turtle once they got to the green. It has me wondering if I should go back. MORE MARSHALS NEEDED. Stop Slow morning play.
South Jersey Gem
This is one of the best public courses is South Jersey. The greens are always perfect and the fairways are pure. The course is a little short and can get backed up on weekends but that expected for NJ golf. The course itself is a gem!
Slow pace
The only reason I played this course is because I can decide at the last minute and be at the course in 10 minutes. Pace of play is always an issue at this course that’s only 6200 yards. Course is always in good condition with exception of few red boxes that been under repair. There is never a ranger on this course. Staff is very friendly from pro shop to the starter with the exception that the starter always wants me to check in with the pro shop, it make no sense for me to pay it online and then have to check in at two points to accomplish same thing. They should make it easier for the customers not make it harder. Again, I’m not saying they are rude or anything I’m sure they are following rules. I always play as a single Yesterday I got paired with a very nice twosome. Group in front of us showed up six minutes late and held us throughout the entire round. When I asked them if they can speed up one of the idiots said they don’t mind playing slow and no we couldn’t play through. No golf etiquette at all. Yesterday temps were in the high 90s. There was no water on the golf course.
SLOW PLAY
This course is good for the money and usually in good shape. Carts having GPS is a nice amenity. My only problem is SLOW play!!! I usually only play it on weekday afternoons and it’s always over 4.5 hour round. On a Saturday afternoon that’s fine but on weekdays when I’m just trying to get a quick 18 in it’s frustrating. They definitely need a ranger out there enforcing the pace of play, that’s literally on your screen letting you know exactly how far behind you are.
