Forgot to Mow?
Greens were very slow and not smooth. Some of the slowest greens I have played in the area unfortunately. Greenskeeper definitely didn't cut.
Pace was annoying, group in front lost a ball on almost every hole. Ranger said it was normal for the weekend to be that slow. I think we finished just a little over 5 hours.
Desk staff was very friendly.
definitely meadowy
I like the course layout. Conditions of the greens and front nine fairways was fair. The back nine was in better shape than the front. For the price its a good deal. Staff was friendly and the nineteenth hole was great.
Thank you for the positive review! Hope to see you again soon.
Meadows at Middlesex
Course has what appears to be great “Bones”. It’s a nice challenging layout. Problem is the conditions are poor. Tees boxes and fairways are a mess. Need to find a tuft of grass on fairway to place ball. Lots of dirt and crabgrass. Greens were very nice and undulating. Problem was they are extremely slow. Had to smack ball to hard all day. Course needs some love and money. With attention to conditions this could be a nice track. Until then I won’t be going back
Thank you for the feedback. We have hired a new superintendent and made irrigation repairs that will bring the course back to its usual excellent condition. Hope you give us another try this summer!
Great bones with bad conditions
I think the design of this course is terrific—the Finger/Fazio design is apparent. However, the course conditions rival a dog track. I could not tell the difference between the rough and the fairway. We laughed when my ball was in the middle of the fairway on a hard pan. Greens were furry, but when cut may roll okay. Was told there is a new grounds superintendent and that they fixed the 200 or so sprinkler heads which were broken. I'd like to play again in 3+ months and see if there's a difference.
Probably won’t play again
- Slow play. Almost 5.5 hour round
- Nuisances on course. Geese on water holes. Kids on bikes on some other holes.
- Some holes close together. Music playing in golf carts was inappropriate.
- Bunkers in bad shape. Need sand.
No rangers anywhere to help. Won’t be back.
Sorry you did not have a good experience. We will increase ranger patrol.
Don’t do it
The courses condition is horrible. It’s been abandoned.
Thank you for the feedback. We have hired a new superintendent and made irrigation repairs to restore playing surfaces going forward.
Meadows
Not great in any sense. Tee boxes horrible, fairways even worse, and greens were somewhat decent. High school golf practice backed up the whole course. I’d go play somewhere else.
Thank you for the feedback. We are in the process of making irrigation repairs to improve conditions.
Good Hotdog
Hotdog was the best part of the round. 6 hours and not a ranger in sight.
Sorry you did not have a good experience. Pace of play is rarely an issue here. I will have our rangers increase patrol.
Disappointed but has Potential
Meadows is in rough shape. The fairways are patchy and the bunkers are rock pits. With poor maintenance and sluggish play, it’s not worth the visit until they make serious improvements.
The girls I played with said Middlesex County has been promising improvements for years, but all the money goes to other courses. Such a shame.
Thank you for the feedback. We have hired a new superintendent and made irrigation repairs that will improve course conditions in the coming months. Hope you give us another try this summer.
Meadows
Enjoyed the rd with friends. Had some great shots but more bad shots. Overall a great rd. Will be back to take on this course again.
Thak you for the great review! Glad you had a good experience. See you soon!
Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price
I really wanted to like this course, but after playing a round here, I can’t say I’ll be coming back anytime soon. For the outrageously high WINTER greens fees, I expected a well-maintained course, but that was far from the reality.
The bunkers are an absolute disaster—more like rock pits than sand traps, making it nearly impossible to play a proper shot. The fairways are in terrible shape, with bare patches, weeds, and inconsistent grass that makes for a frustrating round. The greens are decent, but they’re the only somewhat redeeming feature of the course, and even they aren’t enough to justify the cost.
For what they’re charging, I expected much better conditions. There are plenty of other courses in the area that offer a far superior experience for a much more reasonable price. Save your money and play elsewhere!
Thank you for the feedback. We have hired a new superintendent and made some irrigation repairs that will have the course back into great shape in the coming months. Hope you give us another shot in the summer.
Greens Fees are Wild
Zero justification for the off-season greens fees being so high.
We are sorry you did not have a good experience. I hope you will visit us again during the season.
Subpar winter golf, high greens fees
We paid 70 for offseason golf at this course, and definitely was not worth it. The playing surfaces were covered in debris and droppings. The bunkers are in bad shape with rocks.
It's obviously the offseason in winter, but for 70 the course needs to be in much better shape for those greens fees. It doesn't seem like rates are discounted for the winter like most other courses.
Sorry you did not have a good experience. We are working to improve course conditions and hope you will give us another try during the season.
Thank you for the feedback. The greens were slow last weekend as we are trying to not stress them as we work through irrigation repairs that are almost complete. They will be back to normal speed this week.
