River Vale Country Club

I really want to like this course. I've played here a number of times and the greens are fast and true, layout is fun. They recently had some issues with their greens due to frost or something, but they were able to repair it fairly quickly. The biggest flaw is that they are completely incapable of keeping people on pace.

This weekend it rained, got through the front 8 in 1 hour 40 minutes. I was excited to be able to play at a good pace, then it came to a screeching halt. Hole 9 had 3 groups waiting on it, then from that point on, it was excruciating. Despite playing the front nine in 2 hours, the overall round still took me more than 5 hours.

They take pride in their course. Challenging and enjoyable at the same time (except for 6... I hate hole 6 lol)

have not played this course in a long time but as good as I remember it. one bad green and would have liked to bring my food and coffee/gatorade with me but otherwise a great day.

It’s pretty amazing that the public can play on a course of this quality within 45 minutes of New York. The iffy weather today may have chased some ypeople away, but there was no group in front of us or behind us and we never had to wait. The course was in fantastic shape except for two or three greens that were sanded and very patchy and much slower than the others. Altogether a great round on a lovely course.

Been playing this course for years. The course is usually in a great shape. The pace of play is excellent. But this year, several greens(4-5) are diseased and definitely leaves a bad taste. This should be notated so players know in advance. I would avoid River Vale this year unless you can play this course at a big discount.

Enjoyable round. Fairways and greens in good shape. Between holes the rough could be cleaned up a bit. Threesome in front of us probably should not have been on a golf course. They were epically slow and probably 2 holes behind after about 6 holes. at 10 they let us play through. No rangers came by at anytime two move them along and we could not reach the pro-shop by phone to get one. But we were chill and enjoying a great day. Great to be out and playing.

Played Sat 4/24, was charged full price $110 and literally 5 of 18 greens were completely lost. I understand that golf is popular and tee times are at a premium right now, but this round certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. How you dont mention that about a quarter of your greens are in such poor shape when you are charging full price is just nuts.

Four of the greens were completely destroyed with disease and not playable. It’s robbery that they charge $110. Play somewhere else in the area.

Beautiful breezy day. Course was in good shape, except for a few damaged greens which are open, but under some repair. Slow group ahead of us and we could have used a ranger to push them along. But no one around.

Course was in great condition, the pace of play was swift, I am definitely coming back. The staff was very friendly and helpful and went above and beyond!! Thanks Jon!!
