River Vale Country Club

Played when it was cold and hardly anyone on the course. Two holes have winter greens as they are repairing those holes (bunkers).

Great course. Had a lot of fun.

The River Vale Country Club is fantastic, at least to a greenhorn like myself. I’ve been playing often for the past 3 months, but have only been here 3 times now. It’s quickly become my favorite based on the overall vibe of the place when first arriving, course, the staff, and the smart screen GPS that is equipped to the carts. It’s nice to be able to pull up alongside your ball and look at a screen that says how far away the hole is.

I will surely be back here regularly next season.

The course is in excellent shape, problem was it was raining the entire time. The greens were like little ponds. The only thing I didn’t want to loose my money because they would not give a rain check. We played only 9 hole because it was pouring rain. Everything had shut down before we came around and there wasn’t even a facility to use the restroom because it was closed. If there were 10 people playing. They said they were open snd we had no choice but to play. Very disappointed . Usually a great place to play.

Love this course and have played countless times over the years. The course is in great shape and has a great layout. The greens are up there with the fastest and most challenging I have played recently, which normally is a lot of fun. But, the past couple of times I have played here the pins have been in comically ridiculous places, a few paces from the edge of the green and on a huge slope.

I understand what they are trying to do but it really just takes away from the fun of the round. There is no reason to feel like you need to "lay up" on a putt on multiple holes to avoid rolling 40 feet away. A couple of the guys I play with shared the same sentiment and would probably make us think twice about playing here.

Maybe I'm in the minority but it has overshadowed the round. On the other hand its great to pad your handicap with all of the putts!

For NYC Golfers, this is a great price and short ride for a muni course that is way better than the NYC Public courses (love them but this is better period). Some very great looking holes and always a good paced round. Greens improved a lot since the 1st time I played there and are now some of the best I've played in the public circuit.

The course was in good shape. However it is not worth the 85 dollars a round. I was ducking errant shots from other players all day. I wanted to to hit a bucket of balls before my round but wasn’t going to pay 15 bucks which was their cheapest offer. The pace of play was slow. The starter, ranger , bev cart girls and cart guys were all polite but there was one worker who was miserable. Putting green had tire tracks. I will not be going back for that price.
