River Vale Country Club

I’m not familiar with the top clubs around but I do know the course is in excellent shape. The design is beautiful and fun to play.

With the one, small exception of a brown spot on one of the greens, River Vale is in exceptional shape despite all the recent rain. And, they have new, relatively quiet motorized carts for the 2019 season.

This course has gone through a complete metamorphosis. It is in amazing condition. The greens are as good as most private courses. In the past you needed to role the ball in the fairway. NO MORE!!!! The fairways are great and the rough is as good as you would expect from a course in this condition. What a great job in bringing back this course to greatness.

Course was in great condition. Staff was friendly. Pace of play was perfect. Loved my round af River Vale Country Club.

Very good experience, first time playing this course. Layout was perfect for my 14HCP, challenging enough but not overly so. May be too easy for low HCPers though. Track was in perfect condition. Greens were fast and challenging. Great practice facility as well. We all had alot of fun!

Over the past 15 years I’ve played River Vale on average about 3 times a year and I can say the course is in the best shape I’ve ever seen it in. The new management has cut down trees along the fairways and throughout the course to open things up. The greens were in perfect shape and the pace of play had my group 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Also a nice feature is having GPS in the carts which is a great help. After the round the clubhouse was filled with people eating food and having drinks. Not much else I can say to help this course but I highly recommend it.

It's a solid course to play. Has some good holes with distance. Not tricked up which I like. surprised how fast greens were and how nice they were this time of year. Sure not exactly smooth yet, but they really rolled out. Some tough pin placements particularly number #1. Not sure you can stop the ball on the green if your first putt is from above the hole with pin in the front. That green needs to be fixed to prevent balls from running off. And slows down play too!!!! there was a Ranger. He didn't do much to help move the foursome n front along since they were getting too far behind group in front of them.

Beside being very disorganized (getting from green to tee) the fairways were in horrible condition. Greens were OK, round was very slow on a 45 degree weekday morning.

Probably the worst course I've ever been. Can't even call it a golf course. The people were rude, people behind us hitting balls without giving us warning, workers there are rude and ask you to pace up. Food was horrible and they just definitely get rid of this crap place.

Started letting us out around 9:45. Went out as a double with a 4some behind us. Never saw them. Course was in decent condition considering late December and recent rain. Greens in good shape too. Overall a nice day.

Interesting layout, good conditions and very sophisticated greens for a public course. Will come here again without question.

I found this to be a nice course with lots of interesting holes. The property has nice elevations and lots of undulating fairways. The greens are smallish and have very substantial slopes and banks. There are a good number of elevated greens protected by large bunkers, usually on one side. A few holes have views of an adjacent lake. A number of fairways turn or are angled to the tee and there are a number of blind shots nicely incorporated into the routing. A number of holes seem tightly fit but not confining. It's a decent parkland muni.
