About
River Vale Country Club (formerly known as Bergen Hills Country Club.) sprawls across the gently rolling hills of northeast New Jersey. It has been ranked on Golf Digest's list of "Best Places to Play," but it still manages to remain one of Bergen County's most well kept secrets. You'll hardly ever run into crowds on this golf course. The layout has a classic design that incorporates a variety of elevation changes. Tricky uphill and downhill lies will be your biggest challenge on this layout. Strategically placed bunkers lurk beside the greensides and there are several holes where water hazards come into play, including the par-5 fifth, which has a lake on either side of the green. River Vale a tight golf course that demands accuracy and while it's not overly formidable, your skills will definitely be put to the test.

Very Solid Overall
Played 3x this year and several times last year. Significantly improved conditions with current maintenance crew doing a very good job.
Debris no longer in plain site. Fountains working. Tee boxes pretty good (not perfect but good). Greens roll very nice. A little pricey though. Workers very friendly. Driving range ok not great. If you can get on for $80-90 it is worth it. No beverage cart yet no coolers permitted. You have to spend some money here. Overall - very solid though.

great day of Golf
The driving range was helpful in centering my shots with there electronic tracking devices installed at every booth. Very Helpful. It did translate to the course. I played better that i usually play. It truly was a great day at Rivervale
Great course - quickly a top drivable from the city
On the lower end of expensive, the course is worth it. Conditions were perfect. Comparable/better than any in the area. Mostly straight away but definitely a few holes to keep the driver in the bag and play strategic.

Excellent Course.
This is going to be my go to course. It's immaculate, pace of play was great and the range has top tracer technology.
fast greens
the course was in greatr shape today. the greens were very fast. lost a few strokes because of that. but overall it was a great day of golf. thank you rivervale. see you soon.
Too Expensive
This is a pretty good course and a cool layout. Conditions were okay not great. The price is just way too much for what it is. $125 should be more like $80.
Amazing Course
I absolutely loved this course. Greens run and will test your skill. With a great mix of dog legs, short and long Par 3s and blind dog legs and fairways, you will be thinking about every shot.
This course really forced me to play conservative. Loved it. It was my first time but I will definitely becoming back.
Great as Always
Continues to be one of the best daily fee courses in the NYC area. A bargain when you can snare a HotDeal.
