About
River Vale Country Club (formerly known as Bergen Hills Country Club.) sprawls across the gently rolling hills of northeast New Jersey. It has been ranked on Golf Digest's list of "Best Places to Play," but it still manages to remain one of Bergen County's most well kept secrets. You'll hardly ever run into crowds on this golf course. The layout has a classic design that incorporates a variety of elevation changes. Tricky uphill and downhill lies will be your biggest challenge on this layout. Strategically placed bunkers lurk beside the greensides and there are several holes where water hazards come into play, including the par-5 fifth, which has a lake on either side of the green. River Vale a tight golf course that demands accuracy and while it's not overly formidable, your skills will definitely be put to the test.

Beautiful place
Cold but sunny. Recently aerated greens. However, an amazing layout fun but challenging. Can only imagine what this place looks like in the prime of the season. Can’t wait to go back.

Lovely track good variety of holes always in great condition, definitely the best in the area
Excellent condition considering it's fall
Course is consistently well maintained. I always enjoy playing a round here. Green fee is on the high side so the Hot Deal opportunities are great. This particular day the playing pace was extremely slow. At one point we were 18 minutes behind with another some in-front of us and the hole ahead but didn't see any ranger managing the pace throughout our rounding.

Great Day of Golf
Excellent Day! Great course layout. Nice range chipping and putting area. Greens were aerated, but that was disclosed upfront which was appreciated. Very enjoyable round on a stellar layout. Pace of play was 4hrs 30 min.
